Sympathy Card

I have been looking over my card rack in the last week, and noticed that it's getting awfully lean for my customers.  I set it out at classes and clubs, and it's an easy way for people to pick up a card or two for the month.  I noticed especially that I am out of sympathy cards, so that is one of the cards I put together today. I wanted to use the inspiration from Authentique because I don't often use blues.  And I don't know why because I love them!

This is the card I came up with using Authentique's Genuine collection and a few CTMH supplies:

The banners are cork, and I cut them from larger pieces of the Color Ready Evergreen Shapes.   The sentiment is from the Words of Comfort stamp set.  I have never inked the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon with outdoor denim ink, but boy, did I like the result. As long as I was sponging, I distressed the edges of all the pieces with outdoor denim.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Prom

This is my nephew and his very pretty girlfriend at their prom.  I grabbed the photos off of Facebook, but I still think I was able to capture the beautiful yellow of that dress.

As beautiful as the dress is, I had to do some searching to find some paper that would match.  I finally decided on some of Authentique's Blissful.  I cut the flowers from a piece of the paper, and I used black cardstock, licorice gems, and dimensional elements from CTMH to compliment the Blissful.  Leaving the dimensional elements white was the perfect pop to match Trevor's white suit.

Pretty as a Postcard and a Winner!

I'm having fun being a guest designer over at Lasting Memories!  Last week, it was really fun to see the summer-themed mini albums that were created for the challenge!  As promised, there is a winner of a $25 Close To My Heart gift certificate from me - and you'll find out who that is at the bottom of this post.  First, I want to tell you about the challenge for this week.
Have you ever worked with mosaic patterns on your layouts?  Well, that is the challenge this week.  I brought out some of my flower pictures for this one.

Like looking through a window, right?  I love this technique!

This is a mixture of Authentique (Gifted) and Lily Bee (Happily Lost).  Truly, it was the only pinkish paper I had in the house, and I love it!  This Lily Bee has a little bit of a warm tone, and that is exactly why I have it.

What can you come up with for this challenge?  I'd love to see it!  Okay, now I need to get to the winner for last week's summer-themed mini album.  I will tell you that everyone that entered the challenge made gorgeous albums!  There is a lot of talent out there!!  The winner on my blog is Theresa!!!  Stop by her blog - even the background will make you happy!

Theresa, e-mail me at girlygirlrose43@msn.com to claim your gift certificate!
