A Few More Mother's Day Cards

In this second post of the day, I am continuing with Mother's Day cards for Operation Write Home. I'm not really on the ball rather the deadline is April 1st so I needed to get going! In these cards, I've used some new K & Company paper.

The first card sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches:

The striped flowers on the left of the card were cut with my Slice Think Pink card. I layered the blossoms with prima flowers and CTMH buttons. The ribbon, pin, and swirl clip are CTMH and the stamp is Stampendous.
The second sketch is from Clean & Simple, and I had a hard time keeping it clean and simple!
The clip, buttons, and ribbon are CTMH. The stamp is Stampendous, and the flowers are Prima. I am not sure the where my little blue gems came from. Cute sketch!!
Finally, the last card is from Everything But the Kitchen Sink:

I took a little liberty with this fabulous sketch, but I think it all worked out okay. Along with the beautiful paper, I used CTMH elements.
I am done for the day now, so I'm off to watch American Idol! I am having a little trouble this season because I am just not thrilled about anyone yet. The judges and their behavior has been quite annoying, so I think that's hindering the good stuff. Tonight the Idol 12 need to sing Rolling Stones music, so I think this will separate the good from the bad pretty quickly. Have any favorites yet?

Veranda Paper & Different Flowers

I started working with Veranda paper today (CTMH), and I just couldn't put it away! This is such lovely and versatile paper that I can't get enough of it! So instead of dividing these cards into 3 posts, I wanted to share them all here. As you read along, I'll tell you what challenges they are, too, so that you can check out these awesome blogs!

This first card is the sketch for Inspirational Sketches. They come up with such wonderful ideas, and this was no exception. The ribbon, pearls, and waxy flax are CTMH. The flower is Bazzill, the pin is Making Memories, and the stamp is Hero Arts. Because I've used a flower, this also qualifies for the Practical Scrappers challenge.

The second card is a sketch from Everything But the Kitchen Sink. All products used are CTMH. What a great sketch! I can see myself using this one over and over.

This last card is for the OCC Sketch Blog. I took a little creative liberty in what I used for the element on the left. I wanted to take out my Playful Petals stamp set (CTMH) and make a flower. Because I don't mind fussy cutting, I think this is rather fun once in awhile! The stamp set is Hero Arts, and the ribbon and button are random. Because I've used another flower, this also qualifies for the Practical Scrappers challenge.
I have been busy crafting today! I have much to do tomorrow, and then I work full days all through Saturday. So I wanted to be sure and give you a few things to look through. If you haven't seen it, scroll down for the layout of Jerry I posted this morning.
Happy Monday everybody!!

Around the House - Wrapping Paper

I hope you all are having a good weekend! Today the high is supposed to be 0 degrees here in our neck of the woods. The windchill is going to be 10 to 20 degrees BELOW zero. BRRRRR!!!! I have to work this afternoon, but Jerry is heading out to ice fish. What a crazy man I married!!

On to my project. Everything But the Kitchen Sink wanted us to use wrapping paper this week in our artwork. I used this lovely handmade paper from Nepal that I purchased at the Paper Source. We have a store in Uptown Minneapolis that I frequent, but you can also purchase from them online.

Anyway, I covered an empty Starbuck's mocha powder tin. SO easy!! Very little embellishment - ribbons from the Paper Source, and a MM charm. I intend to leave it "bare" like this until I use it as a gift. I won't want to put much on it, though, as the paper must be the highlight. Maybe just a tag with the intention or the recipient's name. And I think I'll take it into a store to find a matching Prima flower.

You just never know what you might come up with with all those empty canisters around your house!

New Book, New Look!

Sometimes it just that time to make a change.  I've had this blog you are visiting for 12 years!  Wow, that's a lot of post and a lo...
