September Stamp of the Month - Poster Tidings

Did you have a chance to see my video yesterday?  I highlighted why September is full of all kinds of
stamp-y goodness for you!

Today I want to show you the September Stamp of the Month - Poster Tidings.

Subway art is huge in stamping right now, and these two stamps match the trend beautifully.  The stamps measure approximately 2-1/2" x 5", and they work well as one large stamp or in bits and pieces.  Now, with the stamp on the left, the words are inked.  But in the stamp on the right, the background is ink.  Does that make sense for you?  Look at all those sentiments wrapped up into 2 stamps!

Today, I am using the stamp on the right with Frosted paper.

I started out with a 4x4 card base and attached the poster greeting to make this a standard sized card.  Embellishments I've used are slate ribbon, silver shimmer trim, a bow clip from the Laughing Lola assortment, and sparkly gems from a past card kit.

If you are familiar with our Stamp of the Month program, you know that you can purchase this set for just $5 with a $50 purchase.  What a great buy for these two stamps!!  Poster Tidings is available from September 1st through September 30th.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today!!

Good Things

I stayed up late this evening (well, it's actually wee hours now...) to finish a batch of cards.  We have a great special coming up for National Stamping Month in September, and I made cards for the Rose Blossoms that met a challenge this month.  I find so much joy in creating cards for them!

I used Laughing Lola paper, black hemp, and gems on this card.  The butterflies and flower are stamped images from the September special that I fussy cut.  Now I know that I am teasing you, but have no fear.  Come back on Friday, and I will tell you all about the special!

Thank you for stopping in and remember...Good things will come if you just believe!

Artbooking in August - Baby Block

Welcome to the last week of the Artbooking Blog Hop!
This week there are approximately 30 consultants bringing you mini album ideas, and you should have arrived from Linda's blog.

Today I created a piece of nursery decor using the My Creations Block and Artbooking.

I used several keys on the Artbooking cartidge at real dial size to create this piece.  The overlay makes such a fun background!  The other cuts are the frame strip, banners, sentiments, and a photo mat.  Let me show you the photo mat.

I used Liquid Glass to adhere the mini clothespin to the block, and then clipped the photo mat on the block.  The photo can be changed time and again!

The other items I've used are Chantilly Textiles, Mocha Gems, and Trinket Wooden Shapes.

Now you'll want to move on to Lisa to see what she has created for you!

You Can Never Have Too Much Hugs

The past few days I've been showing you all the different color palettes within the Sarita paper packet.  We've gone from Cotton Candy and Goldrush to Lagoon and Outdoor Denim (scroll down to see those examples).  Today I am showing what I think is the most unique paper in Sarita, and the primary color is Gypsy.

This paper reminds me of a funky 60's or 70's theme.  With this card and the last, I've used alcohol markers to color the seam binding.  I love coloring with my markers!
I told you in my giveaway (be sure to enter!) that I would show you example from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking Kit stamp set this coming week.  This is a great set, and it's fun to combine all the images. I've used five different stamps from the set on this card - the banners, the paint splatter (my favorite), the tag, and the two sentiments.  The purple gems are also from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking kit.
I have really enjoyed sanding again, so I sanded all of the edges to bring out the white core.

We are off to the Minnesota State Fair today.  We LOVE the fair and everything about it!  Have a grand day no matter what you do, and thanks for stopping in!

The Many Faces of Sarita

Sarita is a fun paper packet because it has so many fun colors!  Yesterday I showed you a card with Cotton Candy and Goldrush.  Today I am using Lagoon and Outdoor Denim.

Now would you even guess this all comes out of the same paper packet?  I LOVE that about our paper.  I have a lot of choices for my many moods!

Let's see, I've got a lot of layers again on this card.  The bracket journaling box and the goldrush flowers are from the Sarita Stickease.  I cut that pretty doily under the flower using the Artbooking cartridge.  The sentiment is actually from September's special....sshhh....I'll tell you more about that next week!  I used the lighter shade of the lagoon markers to color the ribbon, and then I added some bling (rosewood gem and sparkle flourishes).

I am going to put this in Sarah Hurley's texture and dimension challenge.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Live in the Moment

One of the new paper packets, Sarita, has very unique patterns and color mixtures.  Well, I love that because it's always a fun challenge to create with them.  I saw a sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches, and I went to work on a card.

These colors - goldrush and cotton candy - are really very nice together.  I created a lot of layers mixing those two colors,  so I am also entering this into the ABC Challenge which is lots of layers.  I embellished this card with fussy cut stamps.  The two stamp sets I used are Sarita Workshop on the Go and In the Moment.  Our new Rosewood gems in the mini medley package were perfect accents to finish off the card.  I've also starting finishing off the inside of my cards, so this is what it looks like.

Thanks for popping in today and remember to make every day your best day!.

Artbooking in August - Mini Book

Welcome to Week #3 of the Artbooking Blog Hop!
This week there are approximately 30 consultants bringing you mini album ideas, and you should have arrived from Linda's blog.
I want to show you a piece I created for the Designed Decor Acrylic Flip Stand Album.  I take this with me to my Gatherings and events to tell people all about the being a Close To My Heart Consultant.

During the weeks of the hop I have been showing you the key on Artbooking as well as my artwork, but I used several keys of this album.  That's the beauty of Artbooking - you can pick and choose!

This is a super fun way to show this album.  My next project with this stand will  be to create an album of special recipes with photos for my kitchen.  I love how easy it was to cut all of these pieces with Artbooking and then just clip them on.

Now you'll want to move on to Lisa to see what she created for you!

Sparkly Flowers

I saw a challenge over at the Ribbon Reel, and I loved the inspiration photo.  I put together this card using the chevon overlay from the Artbooking cartridge.

Every month, I'll be teaching a class using the Artbooking cartridge, and one of the things I will be teaching is how to use overlays on cards.  It's so easy and fun!  I cut all the flowers using Artbooking as well, and I simply added gems, a little glitz gel, and a black organdy double bow.  All those flowers and sparkles are sure to cheer up someone's day!

Thanks for dropping in!

Monthly Scrapbook Club

I am so excited about my monthly scrapbooking club starting in September!  Of course, I am always excited to teach, but I've made a few changes, and I think my club members are going to love it!

**IMPORTANT**  If you are local and would like to come to club, I only openings left on two of the club nights.  Check out my calendar HERE, and the dates I have open are the 3rd Monday and 3rd Thursday.  Club kits are available long distance!

I'd like to show you September layouts using Sarita, and then read on for some club highlights.  I scrapped some of my photos from Convention, and I loved this paper for it!

We will be using and learning a lot of technique in September, and that's what club is all about this year.  It's important that you keep learning each month  Along with that, we'll mix in Cricut cuts and stamping.  The base of each layout that I teach will be the Workshop on the Go so that if you are long distance, you will be able to put the layouts together easily.  As always with my kits, everything comes to you pre-cut!  If you order my kits long distance, they will also come pre-stamped.

Each month you have a choice of two kits:

  • Kit A ($25) - This kit will contain a paper packet, embellishments, the Workshop on the Go cutting guide, and a color photo of my finished layouts.  You will have paper and embellishments leftover to create additional pages or cards.
  • Kit B ($35) - The kit will contain everything in Kit A PLUS additional cardstock and the Workshop on the Go stamp set (value approximately $20)
There are also two ways to join club:
  • 9-month Club - Commit to join club from September 2013 to May 2014.  During one of the months, you will be the club hostess.  I start you out automatically at a $150 Gathering which gives you $25 in Hostess Rewards.  When you are Hostess, I will set up an EZ Invite for you so that you can invite friends, family, and co-workers to shop in order to increase your rewards.  Any Idea Book orders the night of your Hostess month will also be credited to you.  This year hostesses will also receive a free stamp of the month.   (CTMH Consultants are eligible to be a part of club. Contact me for details!)
  • Choose a Month - If you do not want to make a commit, you are welcome to order a kit here and there as you'd like.

Thanks so much for reading through and for stopping at my blog today!  I appreciate you!!

Artbooking in August - Card

How are you enjoying the Monday Artbooking Hop?  It is fabulous to see so much varied creativity, isn't it? Welcome to Week #2!  Over 35 consultants are bringing you examples of cards created with the Artbooking cartridge.  This is a circular hop, but should you get lost along the way, you can start at the beginning RIGHT HERE.

I made a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 birthday card using the All Star key found on page 83 of the Artbooking booklet.

The overlay image is perfect for card backgrounds.

This is ProPlayer paper, and I find it perfect for sports of any kind.  I also cut "all star" and the circle from this key.  The stamp sets I used are All the Details and Holiday Tags.  The embellishments I used are black and silver shimmer trim, outdoor denim chevon ribbon, grey sparkles, and a badge from the ProPlayer assortment.  What a perfect card for my baseball-playing nephew!

Now it's time to head over to Lisa's blog to see the card she created for you!!  Enjoy the journey through the blogs because there sure is a lot of creativity out there!!

My Musky Hunter

There is nothing I love more than sitting down to make a layout for no good reason other than putting memories to paper.  Jerry went fishing last Saturday, and I loved this photo of him with his big catch.

I keep an album of Jerry's fishing adventures in the family room (otherwise known as the man cave).  He loves summer when he can head out for the day to fish.  If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know that my dear husband finds a lot of peace in the summer sun and on that boat. I love when I head down and see that he's been looking at the book.   He really liked this addition, and that makes it all worth it!

I used the left page of one of the layouts in the Make It From Your Heart book - Volume 2.  Have you had a chance to look though these books?  They are just awesome and hold not only sketches, but so many ideas!  At $7.95, they are a steal!  I used a photo mat and a mini album page ("summer") from Artbooking.  "Too much fun" is actually one stamp from an Artbooking stamp, but once I stamped it, I thought it would be fun to cut the image in half to create a phrase.  This is Tommy paper (don't you think it's perfect for fishing?), and I've combined it with outdoor denim chevron ribbon, a little piece of burlap, Tommy Canvas, and the Tiny Type Epoxy alphabet.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sympathy Card

It's never easy to make a sympathy card, so I like to try and make them as pretty as possible.  I used For Always paper and sponged it with Smokey Plum ink.  I added a sparkle flourish, shimmer trim, some black tulle (discontinued), and some trinket pins and a charm from my stash.  The sentiment is from a new little set called Sincere Expressions that is just $6.95.  It's such a lovely font for a sympathy card.

I hope that you are having a most wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Artbooking in August - Two Page Layout

Welcome to the Artbooking in August Blog Hop!  This is a circular hop, so if you are starting here, just follow the links along the way.  Have fun  and be inspired along the way!!

This week we are showing you how the Artbooking cartridge can help you create a fast and easy two-page layout.  I used the "family" key on page 67:

As you will see with my example, I used ten of the images on the key to create my l:ayout

I chose this key because I am still busy working on layouts for my South Caribbean album.  I loved being able to combine the crystal blue overlays with Surf's Up paper.  The nice thing about creating two-page layouts with Artbooking is that you can be completely done once you attach the overlays, mats, and phrases.  However, if you are like me and just always want that "little bit more," you can add embellishments and stamping.  I added the phrase "you+me" from page 58 along with some Surf's Up pinwheels, wooden trinkets, aqua dots (I LOVE these!), and lagoon washi tape.  The stamped images are from All the Details and the Designed Decor Frame Kit stamp set.

Next on the hop is LISA.  Stop by and see what she has created for you today!!

Thinking of You, Sunshine

It's my turn to reveal at the Rose Blossom Garden.  We would love it if you came to play along!  We have a few news rules now, and you can use any Cricut cartridge you'd like as long as you follow our theme.  Of course, you get extra credit for using the key we name!  So for this challenge we are using the T key from Artbooking along with a summer theme.  We want you to see what Artbooking can do!

Here is the key that I used to create this card:

I set my real dial size to cut the overlay at the size I wanted it.  I thought I'd like a little something more, so I used the top of the umbrella to highlight the sun.  The other image I used was the title "sunshine."  Now I have a hard time NOT stamping on anything, so I grabbed the little paint splatter stamp from the Laughing Lola card making workshop on the go, and then stamped the Thinking of You heart from one of the Artbooking stamps. A little embellishment and the card was done!

I hope that you are having a great weekend!  Come back tonight because we are starting the Artbooking blog hop!  Each Monday in August you'll get to see a new project done with Artbooking!

Sketch N Scrap

We have a new sketch for you to play along with at Sketch N Scrap!

Here's my take on the sketch:

I grabbed my Tommy paper and some photos I took at Downtown Disney in June.  My dear friend and downline Marg and I went up in this balloon.  That may not seem like much, but I will interject here that I have a fear of heights.  So even though it was tethered and only 400 feet, I was a little leery.  But I am so glad that I went up!  The views are spectacular, and it was simply a gorgeous day!

The faux stitching around the photos was made with a journaling pen.  I did a lot of stamping on this layout, and other than the two wooden arrows, that is all the embellishment I used for this.  I love it when stamps are the embellishment!  I used Sightseer and Reel Life - two must-haves for every scrapbooker!

Head over to Sketch N Scrap for some more inspiration!
