Both of these little goodies are for challenges over at Sketches for You. I purchased some Webster's Pages paper, and I was itching to do something with it so these are the results. I based my card on the required sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches:
I love making banners, so you'll see one on this card. They are simply so much fun to add to projects!
The tag I created for Michelle's challenge is vintage:
Items used: Webster's Pages paper; Unity/Melody Ross stamp; Ribbon - American Crafts, Martha Stewart, and May Arts; Creative Imaginations brad; metal key; baby pink chalk; Glossy Accents

A Card and a Layout for Sassy Lil Sketches
The card I have for you today is a sketch challenge from Stacy over at Sketches for You:
Items used: CTMH Veranda Level 2; CTMH Treasures stamp set; CTMH cocoa grosgrain; Zing Vanilla Embossing Powder
I wanted to scrap the next two pictures of my sisters and the perfect sketch popped up at Sassy Lil Sketches. It is not my turn for reveal yet, but I still wanted to play! Hop over and see what the Sassies have done with the sketch. When you play along in the month of August you have a chance to win an embellishment package from Scrap Freak, and 3 sets of digi images from The Cutting Cafe! I am not a digi girl at all, but trust me, Regina has some amazes images that are beautiful for scrapping!! Okay, here's the sketch and what I've done with it:
Items used: Adornit papers & sister sticker; May Arts felt ribbon; Prima flower; Making Memories stick pin
You'll see that I couldn't resist flipping it!

The Marriage of a Family
I have a new sketch challenge going on over at Sketches4All. I created a sketch for this challenge, and I'd love for you to play!
(Those pathetic looking circles are buttons or any other embellishment. I never claimed to be able to draw - LOL!) Here is what I came up as an example:
We celebrate our 20th anniversary at the end of the month, and these are pictures from our wedding day. They are such precious pictures to me - and Shane was absolutely the cutest! Jerry's mom made him the little tux to wear, and I am just thrilled to have that in his memory box. Even though I have ong since finished our wedding album, I always knew that I would want to scrap some of the pictures again as we reached "milestone" anniversaries.
I hope you will come over and play! I give a great prize away with every challenge!!
This layout also fits the challenge over at Adornit. July's requirement is to use a button, paper as ribbon, and hand written journaling. I used the Adornit July kit to complete this. Isn't it just beautiful paper?! I love the font of the alpha - very pretty! The ribbon under the picture of Jerry and Shane is my folded paper ribbon.

Cards, Banners, a Recipe, and Some News!
I should warn you that this is one of my longer posts! And for the Sketches in Thyme reveal, scroll on down to the next post - it's fun sketch and I've used Bo Bunny Jazmyne.
Okay, I got carried away with banners yesterday. I bought the new Hero Arts banner stamp, and I just love it! It's so cute. I think all you banner-lovers will agree!
My first card is for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap. I love the card sketch:
Along with the stamp, I have used: CTMH paper, button, swirl clip, and flowers; Chocolate Zing embossing powder; Think Pink Slice card
My next card is for the July 14th Sassy Lil' Sketches challenge. (Side note: My first design reveal for SLS will be on August 21!) At first when I saw the sketch, I didn't know what to do with it, so it took me some time to come up with a card. It's a great sketch, and it challenged me (you know I love that!).
However, when I pulled out my Bo Bunny Peacock Lane paper, it all came together for me. I also used a little May Arts ribbon, a Unity sentiment, and that lovely Hero Arts banner stamp.
Th third card is for two challenges over at Sketches 4 All. Dannette had a card sketch challenge and Stacy wanted us to use monochromatic blues and bling.
For this card I used: Hero Arts banner stamp; Unity sentiment and flower stamps; CTMH White Daisy and Dutch Blue Textured CS (one side of the Dutch Blue is a matching light blue - one of the reasons I love CTMH's textured paper!) and Dutch Blue and white embossing powder; May Arts ribbon; Little Yellow Bicycle gems
All right, my last card is for the Heart2Heart challenges. I just love the challenges that these ladies present, and you know that I still have a big heart for CTMH! The challenge this week is to incorporate a recipe. Easy! People are always asking me for this recipe, so I made a card to have on hand. For this card I used all CTMH.

Quiche:
Foolproof Crust - 1/2 c. butter; 1 c. flour; 1/4 tsp salt
Mix these ingredients and pat into a 9" pie plate. Prick generously and bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Remove from oven and turn heat down to 375 degrees.
Filling - 1 c. shredded swiss; 4 eggs; 1-1/2 c. milk
Variations: green onion; mushrooms; green pepper; spinach; broccoli; bacon; shrimp; sausage, crab
Spread cheese and one or two variations into the crust. Lightly beat eggs and milk. Pour into shell over other ingredients. bake at 375 for 35 minutes or until set. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
(This is our traditional Christmas brunch. My husband and son love it! It is also good cold, so if you make it early, it will still be awesome!)
OK, we made it through the cards, banners, and recipe. Now I have some news!! I have been chosen to be on the Let's Scrap Design Team! I am so excited to be working on this fabulous community! If you haven't been there yet, be sure to stop by. Everyone is so incredible and the challenges are so much fun!! You'll start seeing my work there the very first week of August. Yippee!!

My 1st Sketch - Come and Play!
Today is the reveal day for my 1st sketch over at skethes4all. I would LOVE if you would hop on over to sketches4all, and join my group! It's easy enough to find - it's called Brenda's Challenges! I will be posting new sketches or challenges on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. There will be a prize for every challenge!!
Here's my sketch and layout I created with this sketch:
As you can see, I mirrored the sketch for my layout. There is a method to madness, as I wanted you to see that you can do absolutely anything with the sketch as long as it is still recognizable. I've managed to get 5 photos on this one page - yippee!!
Now don't you think it looks like fun to play along? You have until Sunday, July 18th at 11:59 pm CST to post your take on the sketch on my group over at sketches4all. The winner will be chosen and posted along with a new challenge on Monday, July 19th. Oh, I bet you want to know what the winner will receive for this challenge! I am sending the lucky winner 15 yards of assorted ribbon. How fun is that?!!

Home of the Free
I hope you are all having a wonderful 4th of July! Here's a very moving song that reminds me of how blessed we are in this country: There She Stands
We had our 4th of July celebration yesterday, and I am glad because it has been cloudy and rainy today. We had a grand time out in the boat and took it up the Mississippi River. Oh how fun! Loads of sun, lots of laugh - especially on the way back down the river when we all got drenched from the waves several times over!! I used a sketch from Let's Scrap to capture some of the memories. My layout also fit Sharon's Recipe Challenge and Christy's Technique Challenge over at sketches4all and the Frosted Designs challenge.
I kept with the red, white, and blue theme of the layout and used red, white, and blue papers:
The patterned paper is Reminisce and the cardstock is CTMH. The ribbon, brads, and waxy flax is also CTMH. The buttons are from Dress it Up, and I used Slice cards (Basics 1 and Holiday Words) to cut the stars and phrase.

Relax
I wanted to get this posted this morning, but I had to get to work and didn't want to make the posting too quick! This is a sketch from Liz Qualman for the Sketch Crazy challenge over at sketches4all. I loved the unique flair to this sketch, and the fact that it could easily be used for a card.
Of all the pictures I have taken over the years, I think this is in my favorite top ten. Fishing is so realxing for Jerry, and it is a part of who he is. This picture speaks that in volumes!
I have used Bo Bunny paper, flowers, and stickers for this LO. I used a few Slice Design cards - Travel USA for the state, Fall/Back to School for the leaves, and Basics 1 for the circles. (Have I told you that I love my Slice?!) The tag coming out from behind the photo is from Tattered Angels. I misted it with Tuscan Sun and Coffee Shop glimmer mists to help it match the LO.
I have to toot! I won the June challenge for my "Journey" layout over at Let's Scrap. What fun!! To see the LO, click here.
I have to wish my younger sister, Patti, a very happy birthday today!! We are going to get to see them next weekend when we camp at the place where they have their RV. I am always so excited to see a sister, and this is especially fun because I get to give her her birthday giftie when I see her. I can't show you until after next weekend! We also get to watch our nephews play baseball. What would we do without that sport?
We are going boating up the Mississippi tomorrow with my MIL and Shane. We are looking forward to the view on that part of the river! I hope you have fun things planned for your 4th of July weekend!!
Okay, now it's time to stop talking! Jerry is out on the deck frying sunfish, crappie, and homemade onion rings for supper. Oh, and of course, I requested my favorite - deep fried pickles!! Have a great weekend!

Como Park
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!! This layout is using a sketch from Page Maps, and it is for the June layout on Sketches4All.
I have used all American Crafts products for this page. I so seldom get to use pinks and the other girl colors - this was fun to make!!
While I had my American Crafts scraps and embellishments out, I thought I'd use them to create this birthday calendar. There are six flip pages on this Maya Road base, so I put two months on each one. I'll finish this off by typing lists of birthdays and adding it on the backside of each flip page. All items are American Crafts except for the silk ribbon and Maya Road base.

I am Thinking of You
I wnated to put a quick card together before I leave for work this morning. I am always working on cards for OWH, so this is another one for the box!
I used a card sketch from PageMaps that is featured on the sketches4all forum for June.
I used Fancy Pants paper, stickers, and ribbon. The sentiment is from my favorite CTMH set - TLC.
Enjoy your Saturday!!
