A Card to Share

This week I was very intrigued by a color combination over at Just Inspirational.  The recipe for the challenge is to use red, gold, ribbon, and gems.  I don't very often use gold, so I thought it would fun to give this a whirl.  I was able to combine this with a few other challenges as well - 4 Crafty Chicks (distressing), Keep it Simple (stars), and Sarah Hurley Challenges (flowers).

I used the script folder in my Cuttlebug to emboss the paper.  Because I used CTMH's white core paper, I was able to sand it off and get a nice script look.  The large star is embossed with gold embossing powder.  I thought this card could actually be used any time of the year or even for Christmas.

Wish

I am still getting that little bit of a jump on my Christmas cards!  It will be so nice to pick out various cards rather than to make in bulk this year.  I am so grateful for all the challenges that keep me on my toes!  This card fits into three challenges - Just Inspirational (Christmas), Glitterbabe (embossing), and Scrapbook Challenges (holiday).

I used the beautiful Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade paper.  I fussy cut the snowflake from a piece of patterned paper.  The CTMH stamp "wish" is embossed with sparkly Bride's Tinsel embossing powder from Judikins.

Fun Times

I changed my blog to fall colors today.  I guess it's time to let go of summer!  I have to admit that this is my favorite time of the year - my husband's, too.  We love the cooler days and even cooler nights.  The crunch of the leaves is one of my favorite sounds!

My fall card also fulfills the challenges at CARDS (leaves), 4 Crafty Chicks (fall), Sarah Hurley (fall), and Paper Sundaes (fall).

Fall colors are just the most beautiful colors to me.  It is truly a pleasure to pull out these papers and work with them!  This is a 6x6 card using the Maple Grove collection from We R Memory Keepers.  Other items used are CTMH Ivory Ribbon; Imaginisce Hot Rocks and i-Rock tool; TPC Studios brad; Bazzill leaves; MM trinket pin.
