Beauty...

...is the challenge at Scrap Tiffany this week.  Beauty is interpreted in so many different ways.  Here is what I came up with:

Not many people think browns describe beauty, but I love warm and rich brown colors.  The paper and butterfly are Beloved from Creative Imaginations.  I softly sponged the edges with desert sand ink from CTMH.  Do you see that scalloped border tucked in between the two papers?  That's one of the new kraft color-ready borders from CTMH.  Easily this package of self-adhesive borders are one of the best values around.  The stamp is from the CTMH set "Gracious Greetings."  I used my Tim Holtz tattered floral die for the flowers and added a bit of tulle for a soft touch.

To play along this week, send your project to Tiffany at tiffany@scraptiffany.com.  Leave me a comment if you play.  I'd love to see your "beautiful" creation!

Love and Metal at Scrap Tiffany

It's time for another challenge at Scrap Tiffany!  For this second challenge of the month, we are using metal or craft wire.  What can you come up with?  Here's my example for you:

I've used a metal scalloped circle form CTMH as the focal point of the card.  The paper, letter stickers, and gems are Bo Bunny, and the ribbon is May Arts.  Now it's time for you to dig out those metals or that craft wire that's hiding in your craft room.  Hop on over to the Scrap Tiffany blog and play along for your chance to win!

Yellow & Grey

Grey has become such a popular color, and that is the focus on the challenge at Scrap Tiffany this week.  Here is the photo to use for your inspiration:

I've made an easel card for you showing these colors:

I chose to use these colors to make a Valentine's Day card.  That big Prima flower and silver ribbon finish off the card perfectly!

Don't you want to play along?  E-mail your submissions to Tiffany at tiffany@scraptiffany.com before Feburary 14th.

Fabulous Friday Find

It is my pleasure to be bringing a Fabulous Friday Find to Scrap Tiffany today!  I am thrilled to bring you to a couple of websites where I am certain you can learn so much!

Do you love learning new techniques? I can’t imagine doing the same thing over and over again. I am always hungry to learn something fresh and exciting in paper crafting. So today, the first website I want to tell you about a fabulous place that is showing new technique every week.
Jeanette Lynton is the CEO and founder of Close To My Heart Scrapbooking and Stamping. At the beginning of the year she started something called “52 Weeks of Wonder.” Every week she showcases a stamping technique. Some of them you may know, and some may be brand new to your crafting experience. Either way, Mrs. Lynton brings them to her blog in a fun and informative way. There is a lot of tutorial and pictures so that you are sure to learn the technique with as much guidance as possible. So far, she has taught stamp kissing, embossing, and generational stamping. Let me tell you, I have embossed for many years, but I learned a great deal from that post!

In addition to this, Close To My Heart does fabulous mini webisodes called Art & Soul. There’s always a layout featuring a fresh idea, and in lightning speed (with music), they show you exactly how to build the layout. They pack quite a few ideas in a 12-15 minute episode, and I think you’ll love what you learn!

I hope this has been an informative Fabulous Friday Find for you!!

Scrap Tiffany Sketch!

Today is a new reveal at Scrap Tiffany!  I would love for you to hop on over and take a look at all the design team's work.  We are all showing you how you can take a sketch and turn it into a card or layout!  Here's the sketch and my card:

I used My Mind's Eye Portebello Road for this baby card.  One of Shane's friends is having a baby shower today, and I could not let him buy a card for the event!

If you would like to take up the challenge, send your project to Tiffany@ScrapTiffany.com by January 30th.  You will be entered into a drawing for a $25 certificate to Sierra Metal Designs. And then let me know that you've entered so that I can check out your blog to see your work!
