Simply Inspired Blog Hop

Welcome to the Simply Inspired Close To My Heart Blog Hop!

This month we are highlighting product from the brand spankin' new Spring Summer Idea Book!  If you've come here from the most delightful Denise's blog, you are on the right path!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

I've decide to show you several new products all wrapped up into one project!

This is the new My Creations Journaling Cards Box.  It measures 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", and  I've covered it with Skylark paper.  The layered fabric flower is the  matching Skylark textile.  It the perfect-sized box for storing photos, greeting cards, or large recipe cards.  It would make a lovely shower or hostess gift!  But today, I wanted to show you how to store the matching Skylark Picture My Life cards.

Close To My Heart has designed eight new Picture My Life programs, and you can view them by clicking here.  I love this scrapbooking system, so the organizer in me wanted to find the perfectly matched way to keep the cards in one place.  Close To My Heart just thinks of everything!  I cut "capture the details" using the Artbooking cartridge.  I finished it off with a sparkle flourish and some teal shimmer trim.

Now it's time to hop on over to Blythe's blog to see her fabulous work!  Be sure to follow the circle to be inspired!  You are going to see loads of amazing artwork!

The Artbooking cartridge has so many possibilities, and I've been wanting to show you a travel mini album I made.  It's SO EASY with this cartridge as there are 10 themed albums on this cartridge.  You just set the dial size and all of your cuts will fit perfectly!

I used cocoa, twilight, and creme brulee cardstock.  The designs of this overlay are so fun, and I think this would be a lovely way to document a weekend away.  Let me show you the inside.

I used a variety of pages and diecuts.  It was just so fun to create this!  This was a gift, so I am going to have to make one for myself now!  But the great thing is that I can just set my dial size and let the Artbooking cartridge do the work for me!

Thanks for stopping in today, and I hope that your week is most blessed!

Love

I stayed up late last night to spend a little time creating with the Mojo Monday sketch.  I am continuing to make my Valentine's Day cards, so this is what I came up with.

This is an unlikely paper combination - Chantilly and Sparkle & Shine.  Both of them have retired, but I thought it a nice combination for a friendship Valentine's card.  I've used slate cardstock to mat everything, and the inks are slate and blush.  "LOVE" is from the January Stamp of the Month, the Valentine's tag is from the Holiday Tags set (you should check this one out - so useful all year!), and the little sentiment is from Lifting Spirits.   The large heart is a Dimensional Element, and I covered it with Chantilly paper.  It adds a little depth and texture to the card.  I pulled out my color ready ribbon and colored it with slate ink.  The hat pins are from the slate mini-medley collection.

I also going to enter this into the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge - Pink and Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I hope that this finds you blessed!

Sew Special

Page Maps U recently starting have classes, and I purchased their first one.  I love that they are self-paced and when you buy the class, you have all the files.  Sketches, cutting guides, instructions, etc.  I love learning tips and techniques, so this has been fun for me!  This layout is based on one of the sketches from the class.

This photo is from 2007, and it is very dear to me.  I treasure the pictures that I have of myself with Jeanette Lynton.  She truly is my creative hero, and I count myself blessed every day because of the vision she has for Close To My Heart!

I had some scraps of Claire (retired) that fit the sketch perfectly, so I combined them with some Claire Canvas Shapes, Wooden Trinkets, an Artbooking overlay, Brown/Tan Sparkles, and the January Stamp of the Month.  I've raised the actual photo up, and on the right side of the photo, I've placed a hidden journaling block.

I am going to enter this in to the Bitten By the Bug 2 (Scrap Your Hobbies) challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I always appreciate that you visit me!!

FREE Team Crop and New Consultant Kit!

Before I tell you all about the new Spring/Summer Consultant Kit, I want to share this....

FREE TEAM CROP!

I am hosting a crop for my team members on Saturday, January 25th at the Andover Senior Center.  I can hardly wait for this because I love this bonding time over paper and ink!  During the day I'll be teaching three technique classes and two business classes.  It's all very casual, and I've told them that they can even keep working while I'm teaching.  There will be recognitions, games, prizes, and a Rose Blossom potluck to round out the day. (For long distance team members, I'll be using my webcam to make videos to share!)

So what does this have to do with you?  Have you been thinking about joining my team?  This would be the perfect opportunity to spend the day getting to know the local Rose Blossom team.  It's a day to crop, see how everyone fits Close To My Heart into their busy lives, and to share in some great fellowship!

Now let's talk about that new Spring/Summer Consultant Kit!
It's filled with so much awesome-ness!!

Can you imagine getting all this product?  This is over $300 in product, and your cost is just $99!!

There is so much I could tell you about being a Close To My Heart Consultant, but today I want to focus on my team.  I put some of my favorite photos in a collage.

Oh, I could make so many more collages - time spent with long distance team members at Close To My Heart events, Convention photos, crops, team meetings.  I do love these girls, and I take a lot of photos of them!  At last count, there are 12 Rose Blossom attending the crop, so be sure to watch for more photos after January 25th!

Things I love about my team:
  • They love Close To My Heart product and the 22% discount they receive on every order!  (That's like a permanent coupon!)
  • They share their creativity through our Facebook group.  WOW!  Is this team ever talented!!
  • They help each other....whether it's product need, ideas, or prayers.  What great camaraderie!
  • They always have a positive attitude - and what a blessing that is!  That means they embrace change, see the bigger picture, and always see the good side of things.
Things I've done with my team:
  • Conquered my fear of heights at Disney World (well, at least 400' of heights!)
  • Drove in ice for 9 hours to attend an event
  • Stood under the Gateway Arch
  • Shared an airplane ride
  • Played with lots of paper
  • Laughed....and cried
If you are looking for a group of paper crafting friends, I can't imagine a better fit than my team!  They would love to welcome you into this flourishing garden of the Rose Blossoms!

Best Wishes

I saw a sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches, and I had a specific paper in mind.

I was glad to see I had some scraps of Dakota left (it is long retired) to complete what I had in mind!  I followed the sketch pretty closely, so there's not too much to tell you about this card.  The stamp is from Banner Wishes.  This set was in the Holiday Guide, and you will see it in the Spring/Summer Book, too.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

January Stamp of the Month - Cross Stitch Wishes

Even if you don't like to sew, I think you will love the January Stamp of the Month, Cross Stitch Wishes!

I don't very often take out pink in my craft room, but I really wanted to make a Valentine's Day card with these pretty stitches.

I used blush ink and the "XO" stamp in the set to create background on the lower portion of the card.  I took out cotton candy ink to stamp the sentiment box, banner, and hearts.  On of my favorite products is retiring at the end of January - the color ready seam binding ribbon.  It is a plain white ribbon that easily colored with ink.  I simply used a sponge dauber and cotton candy ink to create this beautiful pink ribbon.  I had a piece of pink cotton lace in my stash and fit perfectly on this card.  The grey rose is from the slate mini medley collection, and I finished off the card with some sparkles on the banner.

I hope that your new year is starting out most blessed!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Come back mid-January, and I'll show you how I made this album. The pages are made with envelopes and the inserts are card bases.  How fun and easy!
