It's time for a new sketch at Sketch-n-Scrap! I have really enjoyed looking through your work from the first challenge this month. You still have time to play with that sketch of the month, and now we have a second one for the month. (Be sure to visit Sketch-n-Scrap for all the DT inspiration!)
Isn't this great? I love that this sketch is wide open to possibility! Here's what I came up with:
Now who could resist this sweet little blond boy covered in popsicle juice? I know I never could! This is Shane, and I took these photos 23 years ago. My precious, precious boy.
This layout is cardstock and stamping, and the colors I've used are Pacifica, Honey, Cranberry, and White Daisy. I created the banners using a new background stamp that will be released on August 1st. The other stamps I used are For Always Card-Making WOTG (stars, dots), Sightseer (chevron, "photo favorites") and My Sunshine (Bob Marley sentiment). "Coolin' Off is an image from the new Artbooking cartridge.
I loved going back in time to bring these photos to a memory page. So get those old photos out and scrap a couple. You'll be surprised at how good your soul feels when you are done!

Brand Spankin' New
I needed a congratulations card for one of my nephews as they are expecting. I was horrified to discover that I had not one baby stamp set. This is a new generation of nieces and nephews coming up, and I haven't had to have a baby card in a very long time! So guess what I'll be ordering on my next order?!
What I do have is the Artiste cartridge, so I was able to make this diaper card.
The diaper liner and diaper were cut with the Artiste. The celebrate sentiment on the front is from the For Always card-making workshop on the go. I found the "brand spankin' new" sentiment on the Graphically Speaking cartridge, and I thought it worked nicely. I am so excited for these two...and I can already envision all kinds of baby shower things!!
Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Congrats
I saw a sketch at Inkspirational this morning, and I immediately thought of my background stamps.

The floral background is from the In the Background stamp set, and the argyle/harlequin is from Fabulous You. The sentiment is from the For Always Card Making Workshop on the Go set, and I stamped it twice in order to pop up the "congrats" portion of the sentiment. I've used champagne and cashmere ink for this card, so I added some interest by adding black organdy ribbon and hat pins from my stash. I enjoy using my stamps to make my own background paper. With forty colors in the CTMH palette, it's easy to create a look that's all your own!
Other challenges I will be entering this card into are:
- ABC Challenges - stamp your own background
- Anything Goes Challenges - handmade backgrounds
- Craft Room Challenge - stamp your own background
