Uptown Fundamentals and Sea Glass Wall Decor

Now that my sisters have received their Christmas gifts, I can show you what I made them!

I put this layout in a Designed Decor Shadow Box (get yours before they are gone!).  I love the Uptown Fundamentals, so I used them to make this layout.  You're getting a sneak peek at a few new things, and you'll hear all about them in the coming month!

I was able to pop in some new things with the Uptown Fundamentals because we have such versatile lines in Close To My Heart.  One of my favorite things about using our products is the ability to match quickly and easily!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I appreciate you and your visits so much!!

Merry Christmas to You and Yours

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more." Dr. Seuss

To all my friends and followers, I pray that your Christmas will be filled with "more." May you rejoice in family, feel the peace of our Savior, and find yourself surrounded by those that you love!

Christmas love and hugs,
Brenda

Thinking of You

In just 12 days, the Holiday Expressions Idea Book retires.  Today I want to share a little about a retiring card kit.  This card was made using the Thinking of You cardmaking kit.

I changed it up quite a bit by using Sea Glass cardstock, glitter paper, ink, the Hearts Thin Cuts, and a twine bow.  Now let me show you the original.

You can absolutely take these card kits and do your own thing!  The stamps are always an incredible addition to your collection.  This card kit will go away on December 31st, so you want to make sure that you get yours before they are gone!

Thanks for stopping in during this busy season!!
I hope that you are looking forward to a wonderful Christmas ahead!

Tags, Tags, and More Tags!

For the next few posts, I am going to show you some Christmas tags.  When it comes to tags, search through your scraps and look at your Cricut cartridges.  This is an opportunity to bring those things together and to use those embellishments you have in your stash!

I used Art Philosophy (retired) to cut this tag.  The deer head is from Artistry.  I used some scraps of Oh Deer! for the background.  Look how easy this was!  Don't go to the big box store to get your tags because I know you have everything you need!!

Only 10 days till Christmas!  I hope that your plans are coming along in a most merry way!

Thoughtful Flowers Stamp of the Month

There's nothing better than pretty flowers on a thank you card!

I stamped the poinsetta-looking flowers with Memento ink and then colored them.  I outlined with Cherry Pink and filled it with Tender Pink.  After that, I used the blending pen to remove some color.  The center are colored with a combination of Marigold and Golden Yellow.  The leaves are Vivid Green and Leaf Green.  You can see all the markers RIGHT HERE.

The stamp of the month is always $5 with a $50 purchase!

Winter Days

We've had some snow the past couple of days in Minnesota.  At our house we got about 7" of light, fluffy, and really pretty snow.  As much as I dislike driving in the winter, I truly do love the changing of the seasons.  Every seasons brings a different type of joy.  My favorite thing to do is taking close ups of the way the snow lands on the trees.  It's so lovely!

I've used Oh Deer! paper for this page.  The deer, stars, and sentiments are from the Oh Deer complements.  The branches, cones, and tree are from the Flower Market cartridge.

I do want to remind you that the Oh Deer! paper and complements retire on December 31st.  If you would like more before it's gone, be sure to order soon!

Thank you for stopping in today, and I hope you are finding the beginning of the week most blessed!

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards

I sat down today and made 10 Christmas cards in less than 30 minutes!  I grabbed my Hymns of Praise stamp set and used the Cut Above Tis the Season card kit.

It took so little time to make the cards that I grabbed a stamp set from a few years ago that has little ornaments.  I stamped the envelope flap, and I was still done in less than an hour!

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Silent Night

Happy Monday!  I am working on my Christmas cards, and I pulled out gold to work on this one.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday.  I took some liberty with it and flipped it to the side.

I used a gold stripe from the Uptown Fundamentals and then grabbed a piece of Oh Deer to complete the background.  The sentiments are from the set Hymns of Praise, and I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  As long as I was on a roll with gold, I used gold glitter paper for the snowflakes.  Look closely to see how I layered them for dimension.

It is a large snowflake, then a bow made with white/gold twine, a smaller snowflake, and then finished with three gems.  I wish I could show it to you in person because it's so sparkly!

Thanks for stopping in today!

You're a Whole Lot of Wonderful

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  I am so excited to for this hop because I have loved this stamp, Thoughtful Flowers, since I laid my eyes on it.  The flowers are so beautiful and so varied. All the sentiments and fonts are fabulous, but I especially love the one I used for this card.  Everyone wants to receive a card that tells them they are a whole lot of wonderful!

I have been taking some classes at Online Card Classes, and my most recent class is called Heat Wave.  I love learning new techniques and this most recent class has helped me learn some fun things about heat embossing.  Of course, I had to mix it all up, and that's how I came to make this card.

I embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on vellum.  I used the vellum from the Uptown Fundamentals.  Now, if you do this, hold your embossing gun a little further away from the vellum and don't over emboss!  I cut the flowers out, flipped them over and used watercolors to paint the back pink.  My inspiration for this was all the beautiful pink poinsettas I've seen in the stores.  They are gorgeous, and because I have a cat, I can only have stamped poinsettas.
Because I used the white ribbon with gold striping, it was easy to mix gold embossing at the top of the card for sentiments.  The wood grain paper is from Rustic Home Fundamentals.

There are only a few of us on the hop this time, but take the time to hop.  The sneak peeks have been awesome!!  Your next stop is Lynn!
