Welcome to the Simply Inspired Annual Inspirations Blog Hop!

We are so very happy to be sharing artwork from the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book on this hop!  If you've come here from the lovely and talented Blythe's blog, you are on the right path.  This blog hop is a great big circle, so if you are starting here, you can work your way around.  If you need help getting on track, you can find the full blog hop list HERE.

I was asked to teach a creative presentation at Convention using the new Scaredy Cat paper.  The minute I saw my supplies, I knew I had to highlight two things.  First of all, I wanted to show how to use the bold print that you see as a background.  By pulling out the Slate and Black in that piece of paper, I was able to effectively create a spooky look to the page.  I also wanted to show those AWESOME Scaredy Cat sticker complements.  So often we think we have to just put a sticker on the page and be done with it.  If you like a little more clustered and bulky look to your page, our cardstock stickers are perfect with 3-D foam tape.

By using dimension, you can see that I was able to tuck things in here and there to create fun clusters throughout the layout.  I've popped up one of the photo mats to highlight a favorite picture and tied a rough knot with black striped twill ribbon to lend to the spooky feel of the pages.  The stars and metal pieces are from the Scaredy Cat Assortment, and those embellishments finish off the layout very nicely.

Now it's time to hop over to the amazingly talented Bren.  You are going to love her creativity!!

Team Awards and My Fabulous Rose Blossoms!

I had a wonderful time at my Rose Blossom team meeting yesterday.  One of my team members, Marg, hosted at her lovely home on the lake.  The sun cooperated and we had a wonderful day of learning, sharing, creating, and laughing.

One of the things I like to do at my quarterly meetings is awards for my team members.  I recognize sales, team building, anniversaries, and promotions.  I try to design awards that will go well in a scrapbook so this is what I created this month using an exclusive stamp set from Convention.

You are getting a couple of sneak peeks here!  See that pretty purple?  That is a new color called Thistle, and I think you are going to love it! The ribbon and black stars are new, too, and you are going to enjoy using these on your projects.

I really can't say enough about my team.  They are so willing to celebrate each other and are truly happy for each other.  There is not a competitive spirit on my team at all, but rather a spirit of generosity and willingness to share.  What overjoys me the most is that they love spending time together.  As a team leader, I can say over and over again that I am blessed.

I thought I'd share a collage of the day.  Marg decided on a Hawaiian theme (how fun on a hot summer day!) and set up a photo booth for some fun pictures.

I would love to have you join these lovely ladies on their journey!

Picture My Life - Chantilly

As long as I had those pretty Chantilly Picture My Life cards out yesterday, I thought I would make one more thing.  My little grand niece inspired me again for today's project!

This is our My Creations Kraft Ring Box.  They are so easy and fun to decorate, and I am sad to say that they are retiring on July 31st.  So be sure to grab yours now!  I cut apart 3 Picture My Life cards to decorate this box.  I printed off a photo (2 x 2) and attached it to the top of the box using Liquid Glass.  There are so many pretty little embellishments that match Chantilly.  Here's a good shot of the front so that you can see them.

I used some washi tape and a little baker's twine from my stash to wrap around the top of the box.  The other two embellishments are still available, but retiring on July 31st.  They are  Hollyhock Zipper Lace and Base & Bling Pink Jewels.

Thank you so much for stopping in today.  I hope that your day is most blessed!

Picture My Life - Chantilly

Today I am using two cards from the Chantilly Picture My Life program.  I want to show you how easily they could be used for creating gift wrapping.

This is one of our My Creations pillow boxes.  They are clear plastic, food safe, and there are three in the package for just $2.95.  What a great way to give little treats and gift cards!

Life IS crazy good, don't you think?  And just to make you smile, I am going to finish off this post with my favorite little movie star baby (at least I think she looks like a movie star baby in this photo!).  This is my grand niece, and she is as cute as can be!

Picture My Life - Skylark

How are you liking the ideas for Picture My Life cards?    I hope you are finding little tidbits to inspire your own creations!  Today I've got a fun card for you using the Skylark Picture My Life cards.

I have a dear friend that lives long distance, and this is exactly how I feel about her.  Our time talking is just never quite enough, and I treasure every moment!  Isn't it nice that I could find the perfect Picture My Life cards for my feelings?  I used peces from 5 different cards for this creation, and I finished it off with some teal shimmer trim, a little hemp, and skylark flowers.

I hope that you are looking forward to a fabulous weekend!

Picture My Life - Laughing Lola

The Laughing Lola Picture My Life cards are awesome for that special pre-teen or teenage girl in your life.  I would bet that she would love this mini album for her purse or backpack!

I grabbed eight cards, bound them with a jump ring, and added some sparkly embellishments.  I would have loved something like this when I was in high school!

Thanks for stopping in today to see another idea for Picture My Life!
I hope that you are looking ahead to a fabulous day!!

Picture My Life - Babycakes

Today I have a simple baby card for you using Babycakes Picture My Life.

Let's see...I cut down one 4 x 6 card for the background.  I selected three 3x4 cards, cut out the pieces that I wanted, and the card was done!  How CUTE is that giraffe poking out from behind the clouds?!  This card is sure to bring a smile to a new mother's face!

Thanks for stopping in today to see more of my Picture My Life series!  May your day be richly blessed!

Picture My Life Cards

I am not a pocket scrapbooker.  I definitely see the usefulness of pocket scrapbooking.   I would have LOVED Picture My Life when Shane was growing up.  It would have made my scrapping life a lot easier, and it would have gotten a lot more photos in books.
HOWEVER...
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Picture My Life program for so many other reasons!!
Throughout the rest of the month, I am going to show you projects made with the Picture My Life program, and not one of them will be a pocket page.
I firmly believe that this system is for every type of paper crafter!
With eight themes (and 5 more coming in August), there is sure to be a program that fits your needs.

Today, I have one of our 6x6 display canvases using the Avonlea Picture My Life program. (I also think that some favorite discontinued papers come back to life!)

I love this quote, and it's an especially good one to remember if your family is going through something difficult.  I simply attached a card to some Avonlea paper that I had in my stash and used Liquid Glass to adhere it to the canvas.  I also had some slate ribbon and a cameo from the Avonlea assortment in my stash, so that was an easy finish to the project.  15 minutes, and I have a lovely piece for our living room!

Before I leave, I am going to say something about hoarding your supplies...USE THEM!  I promise that with every new Idea Book, Close To My Heart is going to have more pretty ribbons and embellishments and paper.  That was the end of my slate ribbon, but I am glad that I used it on this project.  Allow yourself to pile, cluster, and create with what you buy.  Truly, I know you will love the end result!

Clean and Simple

Sometimes a situation calls for a clean and simple card.
I will confess that I am not very good at making that type of card, so I probably labor more than when I make one of my regular cards.  But I was happy I had been hoarding some of this pretty sweet leaf grosgrain from years ago.  It made this creation a little easier for me and gave a beautiful finish to this card.

Thank you for stopping by and have a tremendously blessed day!

Chit Chat

We have some beautiful product that is retiring at the end of this month, and one of my favorites is Ariana.  The paper packet contains warm colors and beautiful floral patterns.

What a perfect friendship card this turned out to be!  I really fell in love with the Ariana Dimensional Elements, too.  The designs from the elegant roses to the casual phrases make working with this paper a true pleasure!  The bow you see is from the Ariana assortment and have truly been my customers favorite embellishment.  I created the base and fun inside using the Artiste cartridge (Key A, Acccent 3 at 5-1/2").

Using my Artiste cartridge and the dimensional elements, this card came together fast, simply, and easily.  With the warm colors and unique design, it is sure to brighten the day of the recipient!

Thank you so much for stopping in today, and may your day be most blessed!

Halloween Shadow Box for Operation Smile Auction

This post is a little out of season, right? I'll give you a some background on my story...

I was asked to be one of the Creative Presenters for the Close To My Heart convention.  What an honor, but oh, how scary!  It will only be fitting then that I was given our new Scaredy Cat paper to work with! (You will see this paper debut on August 1st in the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.)

You are going to love this new shadow box because it allows you the ability to add depth to your project.  I used the Artbooking (overlay, spider, roses) and Artiste (rosettes) cartridges to create this piece.  There are a lot of other little details in this frame - stamps, stickease, ribbon, enamel stars, and flourishes.

I have to tell you that I am not much of a "preparer" when it comes to speaking.  I am more of a "fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants" girl.  I just determined that instead of being nervous, I was going to teach to those 500 people just like I teach at home.  Because of that, I had a super fun time doing what I love!  I hope the people that attended the presentation felt like they learned something, too.

At the end of the Convention, the winning bid on this proect was $275!  It's takes $240 to do a surgery, so I am very, very happy that this work was able to help at least one child.  Thanks be to God!

I was also so thankful to work with my fellow presenters - Lisa Stenz, Beckie Lehman, and Pamela O'Connor.  What beautiful, caring, and artistic women!

Look for more Scaredy Cat projects in the days ahead.  I promise I'll wait till closer to fall when we are thinking about Halloween!  Thank you so much for stopping by today!
