The card challenge starting this Sunday at The Studio is to make an invitation. I had fun with this one and pulled out the cutest CTMH stamp set - Summer Days. Perfect for picnics and grilling!
If you click on the picture to make it larger, you will see that the grill, spatulas, strawberries and watermelon have been fancy cut and paper pieced. Those strawberries are so stinkin' cute!!
Items used: Mayberry Level 2 (X7136B); Summer Days stamp set (B1375); Friendship Alpha stamp (C1401); Colonial White Crocheted Ribbon (Z1126); Cocoa (Z2114), Smoothie (Z2196), and Olive (Z213) Inks All of these items can be found on my website.
I posted this a little early because we are heading out to go watch my nephews play baseball. These two boys are some serious ball players, and were are so going to enjoy watching and snapping pictures! (I feel some Studio J layouts coming on.) It's also my sister Patti's birthday, so I am happy I'll be seeing her. Check in tomorrow to see some pictures and to see the gift I made my sister!

Happy Mother's Day!
It's time for a new challenge over at The Studio. We are challenging you to use fabric on your card. Be sure to go over and see what all the design team members have done because their inspiration is awesome!
I had a stack of K & Company fabric sitting around, so I die cut several pieces using my Tattered Florals die. I stacked them and topped the stack with a crocheted flower and fabric brad. Super easy card to make, and it will be perfect for my mother-in-law. Hope you can play along so that we can see what inventive ideas you come up with for fabric!
I also wanted to say a Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I posted this on my facebook page, but wanted to share it here, too. After all, I think one of the important things about being a Mom is being able to laugh!

Happy Easter
I wish you many rich blessings on this Easter Sunday!
It's also time for a new challenge at The Studio. This week we have a sketch for you:
Isn't this a great sketch for scraps? I love it!
This is Imaginisce's It's Your Day paper. I fussy cut the panda and cake from paper. The buttons are CTMH and the twine is Pink Paislee. Head on over to The Studio to see what the other DT members came up with!
I am making Easter dinner in the late afternoon. We don't often have time to sit down as a family, so that is a huge blessing for me. Enjoy your day and be blessed!

It's the Little Things
Time for a new reveal at The Studio! The challenge is to use a recycled or found item on your card. Take a look at mine and see if you spot the recycled item before reading what it is.
These are such pretty colors together, and I so love that beautiful black organdy. The heart is a mistable chipboard from Tattered Angels. I colored it with Smokey Plum ink from CTMH. The sentiment is a rub-on from SU, and the scallops are a kraft color-ready border from CTMH. The recycled part of my card is a paper bag. Do you see how easy that is to use if you've run out of kraft? I ran it through my cuttlebug using the hooundstooth folder.
What items do you have in your home that you can create a card with? Be sure to enter the finished product over at The Studio!

New Challenge at The Studio
The card challenge at The Studio is to create a card using a photo. Oh, I knew just what picture and stamp I wanted to use!
This is a picture from Mille Lacs Lake. We are so fortunate to be the "land of 10,000+ lakes" here in Minnesota. I whine about wanting to move south when we have these loooong winters, but the truth is that I would miss the sweet summer days on the lake. Mille Lacs is north of us, and we go there often.
I stamped directly on the photo with white Staz-On. The sentiment from Unity reads: "go for long walks, indulge in hot baths, question your assumptions, be kind to yourself, live for the moment, loosen up, scream, curse the world, count your blessings, jsut let go, just be." I love that one and I think this picture was perfect for the sentiment.
We'd love for you to play along at The Studio! Link up your creation on the sidebar for the chance to win this month's prize!

Walking on Sunshine
Time for another challenge at The Studio! This is a great challenge - created a project based on one of your favorite songs. "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina & the Waves is one of my very favorite happy songs. So I pulled out some Bo Bunny Sun-Kissed knowing that it would be bright enough to mimic the sunshine.
The pretty orange twine is from Pink Paislee's House of Three.
Hop over to The Studio challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has done. If you play along, you have a chance to win the monthly prize!

The Studio and Pencil Lines Blog Hop!
The Studio Challenges and the Pencil Lines welcomes you to our blog hop! You should have arrived here from VAL'S blog. Isn't her work great? I am on a couple of design teams with her, and she is amazing!! Let me tell you the specifics of the hop so that you are certain to be eligible for the grand prize form Scrap with V.
You will need to go back to the start of the list at The Studio. In order to be eligible for Scrap with V's generous prize, you must comment on ALL the blogs in the hop and become a follower of The Studio.
We wanted to inspire you along the way, so Ann Bowkis from Pencil Lines created a sketch for us. As you hop, you may see this sketch as a layout, card, or in a project.
I created a card using this fun sketch:
I used My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy paper and chipboard for this card. I cut the background using the packaging from some Jenni Bowlin embellishments. Remember - always look at your packaging before throwing it away!
You have until Monday to hop along! Your next stop now is FABI. You will love her work, too!!

Take Time to Chase the Snowflakes
This is my 3rd post for the day, so be sure to scroll down. I have had such much needed paper therapy time today, and I've gotten quite a bit accomplished!
My first card is made for The Cutting Cafe:
I used a couple of Regina's printable stamps for this one - Snowflake Colored Backgrounds and a sentiment from the Snowflake Huge Circle. The use of pearls makes this eligible for the Ladybug Crafts Ink challenge.
I also wanted to make a Christmas thank you card for The Studio challenge. We need those after the holidays! I used the sketch from Card Patterns.
I used my FaLaLa Slice card to make the snowflakes and the Words & Expressions Thinking of You card for the "thank you." The two types of kraft paper worked out pretty well for this card!
