Simply Inspired Blog Hop - Seasonal Expressions

Welcome to the Simply Inspired Blog Hop!  We are showcasing projects using brand new product from Seasonal Expressions Volume 1.

If you arrived here from the lovely and talented Lisa's blog, you are in the right place!

My project started with a whole lot of random stamping and coloring...

I used the stamp set Friend in Me and Shinhan markers.  I colored the flowers with are Peony Purple, Tender Pink, Turquoise Blue, Leaf  Green, Golden Yellow, and Light Orange.  I didn't like the stark white background, so I filled it in with the Pastel Peach marker.

Then I cut the paper into 4" x 3" rectangles to insert into our black display tray.

I wanted this project to be about my sisters, so I simply added some purple and gold glitter mats, black and gold ribbon, and a heart charm.

Your next stop is the incredibly sweet and creative Sheri!

This is the beautiful floral stamp set I used for my project:

Team Builders and My Meraki

I returned from Salt Lake City yesterday after spending 2-1/2 days at the Close To My Heart Team Builders conference.  It is an amazing gift from Close To My Heart, and it is filled with rich knowledge, business ideas, great friendships, and artwork.

One of our artwork projects this year was Meraki.  Have you heard of it?  Meraki is to do something with your soul and with love.  We were given a piece of white daisy paper, a piece of watercolor paper, and paint brushes,  When we reached the table, we were able to choose from a dozen stamp sets, markers, and watercolors to create our own Meraki.  It was an exercise in putting ourselves and who we are on paper.

I went right for the floral stamp set Blossoming Expressions and the butterfly set Your Beautiful Self.  I stamped the images with Memento ink, and used light watercolors.  I felt like the finished page really was putting my personality and creative style on the paper.

Meraki was really a freeing exercise.  I think the light colors emulated my somewhat introverted personality.  If you have that quality, too, I think you know exactly what I mean.  The clusters of various flowers without perfect placement, represent my creative style.  The butterflies?  Well, I think they show freedom in being just who I am.

Try your own Meraki!  Don't copy mine or anyone else's, but rather put yourself on paper.  If you do create one, let me know.  I'd love to see it!!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Live Your Day

Welcome to the Rose Blossoms Blog Hop!  Today we are featuring the January Special - Live Your Day.   The hop is a great big circle, so if you just follow the links, you will make it through all nine blogs.

This collection was designed to coordinate perfectly with the Everyday Life™ 2016 planner pages (which are half-price right now!) and My Crush® Everyday Life pages, so you can seamlessly integrate pocket scrapbooking into your 2016 planner. Whether in the planner or on their own, these cards make it easy to preserve your everyday moments all year long.

Included in the Live Your Day collection are (20) 4" × 6" Cards and (36)  3" × 4" Cards for the low price of $8.95.  The same design is on both sides. One side features the design vertically and the other side features it horizontally.

Now in case you don't want to use them in your planner, I have another suggestion for you!
Why not create a perpetual (and pretty) birthday reminder book using the My Creations Black Mini Book?

I layered a couple of cards on the front and then wrapped some twine and ribbon around it.  My goal was not to make this too bulky so that it can sit on a shelf.

I adhered a card to the inside cover just to keep thing pretty :)

Now the Mini Book has 10 page protectors.  It starts with a protector that has (2) 4" x 3" pockets.  The next protector is 4" x 6", and then it continues to alternate.

I chose to use the decorative cards with quotes to put in the 4" x 6" pockets.  Now if you got to thinking that aren't enough 4" x 3" pockets for all 12 months, you are right!  So let me show you what I did with with November and December using 4" x 3" flip flaps

I adhered two flip flaps side by side on the inside back cover, and I put the month cards in the front and the birthday list cards behind them.  To somewhat hide the adhered flaps, I put another one of the cut quote cards that says, "Don't quit your day dream."

This is a great gift, and it can be made quickly for under $20.

Now it's time to hop on over to Lynn's blog to see what she has created for you!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Beloved Bouquet Stamp of the Month

Happy New Year!  What a better way to start 2016 than to be inspired by the Rose Blossoms?  I've only seen sneak peeks, but I can't wait to see what is shared!  There are seven of us in this hop, and it's a great big circle.  Just keep moving from blog to blog, and if you get lost along the way, I've got all the blogs at the bottom of this post.

The stamp of the month is called Beloved Bouquet, and I am thrilled with a stamp set filled with rose blossoms!  There are also seven great sentiments on this set.  $5 with a $50 purchase?  It's a steal!!

I created a layout for my shadow box frame.

I will show you some close-ups in a bit, but I wanted to tell you that these flowers are so simple to two-step stamp!  Two-step stamping means you have two stamps to create one image.  In this case, I've stamped the background of the roses with Pixie ink.  The second stamp is the detail, and I used Ruby for that.  They weren't terribly hard to cut out, and after I did, I sponged the edges with Ruby ink.  There is a weed-looking stamp in this set, and I stamped that across the bottom of my page.  Now I need to show you some close-ups.  You'll see in the next photo that I did some faux stitching on the edges using my clear ruler.  I also splattered light brown watercolor up in the right corner of the page.

I also splatted watercolors amongst the weeds:

Here is the stamp set, and I think you will agree that it is "must-have" for your collection!

Now it's time to move on to Lynn's page and her gorgeous artwork.  Judging from the peek I saw, we are going to be WOWED!

Should you get lost, here is the order!
