Twin Brothers

I don't know if I have told you that my husband is an identical twin.  He and his brother go through stages where it is very difficult for some people to tell them apart.  This picture of them is so cute, and I think you'll see what I mean!  I used the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays for this layout.

Jerry's mom made those matching outfits for them.  If you click on the layout and look at it more closely, you'll see the gold buttons and chains.  Cute!  I bet they were adorable running around that Christmas!!

I have another picture of the two of them that I wanted to scrap today using the sketch from GYSO.

In talking to Jerry's mom, we think this might be 1968.  They look pretty little and their feet don't quite reach the peddles.  Here in this picture I don't think they look quite as identical.  In the near future, I'll need to put a recent picture up so that you can see the similarity today.

My Mind's Eye - Challenge 21

I have to tell you that working with My Mind's Eye paper makes me happy!  That's why their sketch challenges this month were perfect.  The theme is "celebrate today," and that was easy to do with these papers!

What is better than celebrating a friendship with a card out of the blue - for absolutely no reason?  That's the celebration I tried to capture with this first project:

I've used Stella and Rose (Hattie) paper, chipboard, and ribbon.  The stamp and ink are CTMH.  You knwo I have to tell you that I finally purches a Scor-Buddy.  Boy does that really help in making rosettes!!  When I had it together, I used my Imaginisce de-stressing tool (great little invention!) to make the white core come out a bit.

Next, I wanted to work with a little Fine and Dandy:

This was Shane's 2nd birthday.  Such a little honey!  You know I work with patterned paper so much that this white background made me feel funny.  However once I added the clouds and gems for sunshine rays, I felt much better!  I cut the smaller clouds out of one of the sheets of paper in the collection.  The stars, letters, and large cloud are Fine and Dandy chipboard. I cut the sun, the number two, and the work birthday with my Slice (Fall and Parties cards).  The punch border is Fiskars upper crest.

A Little Stella and Rose

I love everything about this new My Mind's Eye line.   There are four collections within Stella and Rose - Gertie, Hattie, Mabel, and Hazel.  Right down to the stamps, each line is filled with loads of yumminess!  I put together a quick card this morning using Hattie.  No challenges - this was purely for fun because I love this paper so much!

It's All Fine and Dandy

 I wanted to play along with both of the challenges this month over at My Mind's Eye.  Let me tell you, I got my entries in just in time!  I had the hardest time deciding which collection I wanted to use.  However, when I started looking over my Fine and Dandy papers, I knew that I wanted to work with that paper sunshine!

Between the card and layout, I used a lot of the matching chipboard.  It's so much fun - the clouds, banner, owls, sunshine, buttons, etc, etc.  I don't always use a lot of chipboard, but this was just too cute to resist.  I grabbed that picture of Shane from Facebook.  He's blond right now, and I love his new Dolce and Gabbana glasses.  Very fun look!

All of the product used was MME except for the CTMH sticker letters ("this") and Juniper Waxy Flax.

Memory Works

I've got some exciting news!  The team from Memory Works contacted me in early January and asked me to be a guest design team member for Febuary.  How fun is that?!  I am always so happy to share!  I hope you'll check out their blog and see what other exciting things are happening at Memory Works!  These are the first projects I am sharing using My Mind's Eye Union Square paper and embellishments.

Scrap Tiffany Sketch!

I used My Mind's Eye Portebello Road for this baby card.  One of Shane's friends is having a baby shower today, and I could not let him buy a card for the event!

I am one day late in posting a Sassy Lil Sketches design reveal.  Even though it's not my turn to do a page, I am always anxious to show you Cherie's great sketches!  Have you joined the forum yet on the new website?  You are able to load your work right there on the gallery, and I think you'll have a great time getting to know others!

This tree is one of the first that I look at when we've had snow.  It is right at the base of our deck, and it's just so beautiful!  The snow was particularly heavy about a week ago, and the snow clung to the branches for a couple of days.

I've used all MME Lost & Found Portobello Road paper for this layout.  Slice cards used are Words & Expressions Holiday Words and FaLaLa.  The crocheted lace is from my stash, and the gems are CTMH.

For a Very Special Girl

My lovely niece, Lacey, moved away from home a little bit ago. She is not too far, but far enough. She is working and will be starting college soon. I learned from my sister this morning that she has not received any mail yet. Oh my! Immediately I sat down to create this journal/notebook for her. I thought it might be a nice pick-me-up when days are a little tougher. Plus, i don't know a girl yet that doesn't like to write - whether it's lists, thoughts, or just our names, we like to write!

For this journal, I used sugar-coated MME paper. I covered the front, back, and inside covers. I have a bunch of random gerbera daisies, and I thought this one was a good match. The chipboard flower, message, and rub-ons are matching pieces from MME. The ribbons are random from my stash. These are so fun and easy to make - really! I have found that I like CTMH's Bonding Memories the best for adhering paper to the composition book. And I've tried a lot of different adhesives on these! When it comes to the big things, I use CTMH's Liquid Glass as an adhesive. That really holds well!

Julie's Youngest Three

My youngest sister Julie is 10 years younger than I am, and she has four children. Her oldest son Nick is not pictured here, but I had pictures of her other three children. Caine, in the picture on the top, is our godchild. We love this picture of him, and I was really happy to be able to scrapbook it. And look at the smiles on the two youngest - Jaimen and Miranda. They are adorable! I was able to chat with all of these kids last weekend, and I loved catching up!
