Real Life...Love It!

I love this stamp set called All the Details, and it paired wonderfully with the arrow sheet in the Free To Be Me paper packet.  I think that this would make a great graduation card!

One of the (many) things I love about Close To My Heart is that when I pull out a piece of paper, I can grab matching embellishments.  The arrow paper called for Lagoon ink, lagoon twine, lagoon houndstooth washi tape, and teal shimmer trim.  I found a few discontinued items that matched as well - lagoon brads, a lagoon button, and a few gold bitty sparkles.  It all came together on this fun card!

It's a sunny, warm day again in Minnesota!  I hope wherever you are that you are finding yourself blessed!

You've Got a Friend in Me

Today I am bringing you a card that I made with Free To be Me.  I flipped a sketch from The Paper Players as inspiration for this card.

I am in love with the gold dot vellum and especially like using it for background paper.  I used the May Stamp of the Month, You've Got a Friend, for the sentiment.  You know me....I am not afraid to cluster embellishments and trim, so I used several on this card to finish it off.  They are gold shimmer trim, lagoon zipper lace, metallic twine, wooden trinket flower, and a gem from the teal Base & Bling jewels.

Just a few more days to get both the Free To Be Me paper packet and May Stamp of the Month!  With a $50 purchase, you can purchase both of them for just $5 each!

Free To Be Me

There are only 4 days left to order the Free To Be Me special!  This is such a fabulous paper packet, and I am going to spend the rest of the week showing you all the awesome ways you can use it.

Have you noticed these little My Creations Kraft Ring Boxes in your Idea Book?

Now, just because they are called a ring box doesn't mean you have to put rings in them.  They are 2-1/2" square boxes, and they are perfect for holding our Base & Bling charm necklaces, some fun embellishments, or even chocolate!  I covered these with Free To Be Me paper and attached some lagoon zipper lace with liquid glass.
The rosette on top was made with vellum from the packet, and I cut it using the Artiste cartridge.

I topped the rosette with a wooden flower (discontinued), lagoon twine, tulip button (discontinued), and a sparkly gem from the teal base & bling jewels.

What a quick and easy project to give a special little gift to someone!

Happy Birthday, Mojo Monday, and Free To Be Me

It seems like I haven't been here to my blog in quite some time.  I truly have been creating, but it's nothing that I can show you right now.  I've been working on top secret projects for Convention, and it's been a blast!  I completely took a break from creating over the weekend because we were spring cleaning.  I sure am glad that is done!!  I am not a keeper of things, but after 24 years of marriage, it was just time to rid ourselves of clutter.  Hard work, but it's a very freeing feeling!

On to my artwork for today.  I used the Mojo Monday tall & skinny sketch to create my card this morning.

I used the Free To Be Me paper collection.  The stamp sets I've used are Perfect Fit Frames and Perfect Fit Birthday.  Saturday is the last day you can get in on this fun special.  This paper packet is filled with12 sheets of fun paper, and it can be yours for $5 with a qualifying $50 purchase.
Look at all these fun patterns:

When you order this set, I will send you a PDF workshop.  With it, you will be able to create two fun layouts and three cards with this paper.  How quick and easy will that be for your summer paper crafting?!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope that your Monday is most blessed!

Be Yourself

I love working with this month's special - Free To Be Me.  This is bright and bold paper, but there are so many different ways to look at these patterns.  Today I am bringing you a very subtle card.

The golden cardstock is clear embossed, so I sponged white daisy re-inker on to bring out the pattern.  I had little scraps of this and that from the collection to create the banner cluster.  The gold dot vellum cut very nicely with the Cricut, so I created the rosette with the Artiste cartridge.  I finished off the card with some wooden trinket shapes, aqua dots, and a bow from the Ariana assortment.

This is the whole package of Free To Be Me.
During the month of May, you can purchase it for $5 with a $50 purchase!

Thank you for stopping in today, and I hope that you are having a most blessed start to the week!

She Believed She Could

I was lucky enough to win this exclusive stamp at a recent Close To My Heart event.  We had to guess logos from past Close To My Heart events, and what is funny is that the logo I guessed was from the very first event I ever attended as a consultant.  Fun!!

I think every women should have a stamp that says these words...

This is a swing card from the Artiste cartridge (page 52 Accent 2).  I used my favorite sheet from the
Skylark paper packet as well as the Skylark textiles.  If you look closely, there's a little piece of Lagoon zipper lace by the sentiment as well.    The flower is also from the Artiste cartridge (page 44 Accent 2 + shift), and I cut five of them in 1/4" increments to layer.   The center of the flower is a piece from the Skylark assortment, I've surrounded it with a few Aqua Dots.

Now I have to go back to that sentiment.  I feel led to say something today.

Please believe that you can.

There is so much that can trip us up in life.
Sometimes it's a missed opportunity.  Sometimes it's illness.
Sometimes - whatever it is - it's just not fair.

But I want you to know that you can.
With faith and belief in yourself and the power of our God, whatever you are striving for can be in your life.

She believed she could, so she did.

Thank you for stopping in today, and I hope that your day is most blessed!!

May Stamp of the Month

I love the whimsical font in the May Stamp of the Month, You've Got a Friend, and I wanted to bring you a relatively clean and simple card to create.

If you look closely, you'll see that I dry embossed the lagoon background with the dot embossing folder.  I put a little white daisy re-inker into a spray pen and you can see where I spritzed the lagoon paper.  For those of you that like getting the most out of a printed paper packet, this is a good design for you!  You'll see that I used just a couple of strips from the Free To Be Me paper packet.  I added a little teal shimmer trim and a few gems from the teal base & bling jewels.

This is about the cutest stamp set!    The stamp of the month is always just $5 with a $50 purchase.  With a $50 purchase this month, you can also purchase the Free To Be Me paper packet!  So this is a great month to pick up on your Close To My Heart needs!!

I've used the Sweet Sunday sketch for this card, and I also kept it simple with shimmer for the CAS on Sunday Challenge.

Thank you for stopping in today, and I hope that your day is most blessed!

National Scrapbooking Month Special - Free To Be Me!

Happy National Scrapbooking Month!
It's a month to celebrate our passion for paper and memories!!

And, of course, Close To My Heart jumped right in to create a fabulous special for you!

Filled with bold colors, embossed cardstock, and trendy vellum, this paper packet is perfect for your summer paper crafting needs!

I've got a lot of projects to show you this month because I am SERIOUSLY IN LOVE with this paper!  I am going to start out today by showing you a pennant frame that I decorated with this paper.

I collected these shells in Costa Rica, and I wanted to put them in our shadowbox pennant frame.  Little did I know that Close To My Heart would release the perfect paper for the beach!  I used Liquid Glass to adhere the shells to the inside of the frame.  The pennant and sentiment were cut using the Artbooking cartridge.  I added some fun embellishments, and this turned out to be a great piece of summer decor for the living room!

Best of all, Close To My Heart has designed a workshop for this paper.  With the purchase of the paper packet, I will e-mail you the workshop guide to create two 2-page layouts and 3 cards.  Yippee!!  You will have so much fun with this!!

Head on over to my website to order your Free To Be Me paper by clicking HERE!
I guarantee that working with this paper will make you happy!
