One of my memories from when I was a little girl is what sparked this creation today, so bear with me while I tell you the story. When my Mom and Dad stopped by K-Mart (that was the BIG store forty years ago), he would always come home with Whoppers. He brought home orange slices and circus peanuts, too, but I think he loved the Whoppers the most. Well, actually, he loved anything sweet. He would eat light at dinner because he always said he needed to "take a diet." But half an hour later, there he was having ice cream and graham crackers!
Well, let me bring you back to the present now. Last weekend, Jerry and I were at the Mall of America with Shane. (Sidenote: What a fun day!) We went into Caribou Coffee, and I saw this new ceramic mug they carry:
Adorable, right? I picked it up and was thinking about my Dad's Whoppers when Shane told me that I could make it with my Cricut. And he was right!
The milk carton and moustache are cuts on the Artiste cartridge. How fun is that? This is Later Sk8r paper, and I've simply rolled paper to make the straw. The sentiment and moustache stamps are from Perfect Fit-Dad, and the twine made a good finishing touch.
My dad passed away in 1993, but isn't it wonderful that the good memories can come to the surface just by walking into a coffee shop? On Father's Day weekend, you'll find this milk carton in our house filled with Whoppers!

He is My Home
I've had a picture sitting on my desk for almost a week that I wanted to put to paper. One thing or another has kept me from getting it done, but this morning, before I did anything else, I sat and worked with it. I have to get the grocery shopping done today, but I thought I'd have a much better attitude toward the whole errand process if I exercised my creative muscles a little bit first! (I know I can't be the only only one that doesn't like grocery shopping!)
I went right to Sketchabilities to find a sketch, and their new one was perfect for what I wanted to do!
This is a photo of Shane and me from 22 years ago. I remember the day as clear as it was yesterday. I have said this before, but I am really grateful that over the years I have not been a chronological scrapbooker. I love that I still have photos of Shane's little boy years to scrap because it allows me to go back and remember those blond-hair-little-boy days. I love the "subway art" look that is gaining popularity in the scrapbook world, and that's what I've worked into this page. The paper is Later Sk8r, and I've used a variety of stamps - Sightseer, Canvas Art stamp set, and It's Your Day (retired). These are stamp sets that have great versatility and allow for cluster such as I've done. I did a little hand stitching with black embroidery thread on the bottom left and top right. Other embellishments I've used are Epoxy Bubbles, Outdoor Denim Baker's Twine, Outdoor Denim Buttons, and Tiny Epoxy Alphabet. Here's a close up for you of the embellishments.
Now that I've had my fun, I suppose I'd better head to the grocery store or I may not be able to make dinner for my husband tonight!

Stamp of the Month - Pinwheel
When I was a little girl, we always had pinwheels at birthday parties. I'll tell you, it was hours of fun, wasn't it? Simple fun - and that's why I like this month's stamp of the month simply called Pinwheel. I'll be showing you many examples of ways to use this set this month, but I wanted to show you a good use for a boy card first.
This is also the card that I sent to my downline for completing the April challenge I sent their way. I had such fun creating these cards for them!
This is a tent topper card using Later Sk8r paper packet with a few embellishments. I cut the circles and scalloped borders with the Art Philosophy cartridge, and I cut the pinwheels with the Artiste.
T
he Stamp of the Month is always just $5 with a $50 purchase. I think you are going to love having this one in your collection!

24 Years Old
That is how old Shane is today. 24 years have passed, and I feel like it was the blink of an eye. Shane was born into the world talking like crazy. It was a very determined baby chatter, and I couldn't believe it! The nurses told me that they had never seen a baby talk like that. He's still determined in everything he does, and he is working on recognizing his purpose. He is coming to spend the day at home today, so I am sure I will have a lot of pictures to scrap. This is the card that I made for his birthday.
Something I've always tried to impress upon Shane is that we have the choice to make every day the best day ever. So this seemed a very fitting sentiment for his birthday.
I'll be working on Caesar salad, roasted asparagus, and beef stroganoff for Shane's birthday meal. He requested funnel cakes instead of the traditional birthday cake, so that will be fun! I've not made them before, and I am looking forward to it!
Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a blessed weekend!

February Card Kit
I bet you think I fell off the face of the earth! I spent the latter end of last week getting ready my Crop and Open House yesterday. I kept thinking that I had to create a blog post, and then I would run out of time. Thank you for visiting today and being patient with me!!
I've got the February card kit ready for you! I am absolutely in love with the Later Sk8r paper that comes out on February 1st, and that's what I've used for this month's kit.
I wanted to create a kit that would work for men and this is a super fun paper for that! I've also integrated some background stamping because I wanted to show you how that looks and feels on a card. In March, I'll be having a background stamping class, so this gives you just a little taste.
My card kits come pre-cut, pre-stamped, packaged in their respective envelopes, and with full instructions. I make 40 kits, and you can order them through February 15th (or until sold out). The kits will be mailed out on Monday, February 18th. I really think you will love this kit!
