I love it when I get to spend so much time in my room crafting. Yesterday it was rainy, and today it is well into the 90's and humid. So I am taking advantage of this time and getting some much needed crafting done!
In my blog hopping this morning, I happened to notice that Simple Stories is having a challenge to use their elements to create a project.
I actually used bits and pieces from 5 different elements to create this card. It was so much fun to cut banners from here, a ticket from there, and so on. This is one of their older lines, Life Documented, but I really like this one for distressing. What a different card from the one I posted this morning, right? I love that different papers can take us in different directions!

Life Documented
I am at my retreat now, and I am anxious for the sun to come out tomorrow so that I can take pictures of the surroundings and show you! I have wireless here, so I'll be posting as always. In fact, I think you may even see more from me than normal!
The first thing I want to show you is kind of fun. Jerry received his 20-year watch from his employer this past March. I wanted to showcase the letter he received with it, but I didn't want to use a whole page. So I used this nifty product from Close To My Heart called a Flip Flap Memory Protector. I'll show you a couple of pictures so that you can see how it works.
Isn't that fun? You just pull the adhesive strip and attach it to the memory protector. I wish I had had these when I did my Italy book. They would have been perfect! These little flip flaps come 8 protectors to a pack: (4) 6"x12", (2) 4"x12", and (2) 8"x12'. They are a very inexpensive little addition to a book at $3.95. Now I used Cherie's sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches for this layout.
I left out the blocks because the paper already had so much design.
Items used: Simple Stories Life Documented; CTMH Bamboo Waxy Flax; CTMH Basic Buttons; i-Rock gems

Sending You a Little Happy
This is great sentiment stamp from the Unity May 2010 kit of the month. It could be used for any happy occasion or even a thinking of you card. I love when I find a verstile stamp! I made this card for the All Things Unity challenge using the sketch that was provided.
I used the Simple Stories Life Documented paper to create my card.
Simple Stories is a part of Memory Works, and the kits can be purchased at Archiver's, through many online stores, or through a consultant. They are also going to be co-branding with Unity soon to have matching stamps. Gotta love that!! The little spoke-like images are from the April 2010 kit of the month.

Sisters
I won the Life Documented kit from Simple Stories (Memory Works), and it was delivered to me hot off the press a few days ago. My goodness, I didn't even know where to start with this yummy kit. So much goodness in it! I took out pictures of me and my sisters from last September. I am always so happy to have individual pictures of me with them. They are so special in a way that I can't even describe.
The journaling reads, "My 4 sisters...These women mean so much to me! And each of them for very different reasons. No matter what or where, I constantly hold them tight in my heart."
This is all from the Life Documented kit except for the few flowers (Prima), buttons, hemp, and brads (CTMH).
