Masculine Card

The current Paper Fundamentals are retiring on the 31st, so I was looking through my scraps to see what I had left.  I used a sketch from a PageMaps University class that I took early in the year.

This card is completely unlike anything I would make.  I am not comfortable using kraft paper (although I have team members that make it look so easy!).  But I had a 4 x 4 piece of the desert sand with black houndstooth, and I really like that pattern.  I used the Artistry to cut the eye glasses and moustache, and I used Artiste to cut the ticket.  The black glitter paper was perfect!  I used Liquid Glass inside the glasses frames, and I dug in my stash for black hemp, a clip, letters, ribbon, and cork.  It pays to hang on to a little of this and a little of that!

Happy Thoughts

It's such a beautiful day today with the sun shining and the butterflies playing by the plants.  I wanted to make a card that would share that feeling of a pretty summer day.

This is Zoe paper (don't you love it?) and the die cuts are from our new Artistry cartridge.  So easy and captured this summer day perfectly!

I can't leave without telling you that it is our 25th Anniversary today!  I don't quite know how time went so fast, and it seems almost surreal that we are celebrating our Silver Anniversary.  What I know is that I love my husband more with each passing day, and that I am problem the luckiest girl around.  We truly have a blessed life together!

Rose Blossom Featured Artwork

You will see a brand new feature on my blog twice a month.  I will be showcasing a member of my talented Rose Blossom team!  They are all such talented artists, and over the months, I think you will agree!  I will have a challenge for them on my team Facebook page, and every time they participate, they will earn a ticket in the random drawing.  During the first half of August, I challenged my team to post artwork using the beautiful new paper packet Zoe.

I've known Kim since I started blogging in 2008.  We've been on design teams together, and she is now one of the Rose Blossoms and loving Close To My Heart.  Kim is also the founder of the Sketches in Thyme challenge blog.  I will share all the links after showing you a couple of pieces of artwork that Kim has created with Zoe!

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Artistry Hop!

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  Today we are featuring the brand new Cricut Artistry Collection, and we are excited!   There are 9 of us in the hop, and I hope that you will visit all of them.  You just follow the great big circle, and you will end up back here.  There is some amazing artwork along the way, so I know you are going to enjoy yourself!!

First of all, I want to tell you that if you are wondering what the shapes and images are on the Artistry cartridge, you can visit this blog post.  I have posted all the shapes so that you can see what is involved in this big batch of 700 images.

I made this card using Zoe paper.  The Artistry shapes are the flower, leaves, butterfly, and two banners.  The stamp "you and me" is from one of the Artistry stamps.

Zoe in Studio J

Have you worked in the Studio J Express Collections?  Other than Picture My Life pocket scrapbooking, I can't imagine a faster, simpler, and easier way to scrapbook!  Let me show you a layout I did at the end of last month.

All I had to do was upload my photos into Studio J and then drag them where I wanted them.  I'll show you a screen shot of what this layout looks like before photos:

It is so easy to add a journaling box or change an existing one to a photo well.  There is a toolbar on the left sidebar in Studio J, and all of that is done with the click of a button.

The only other thing I made is tags for my photos, and I did that by selecting the yellow banner on the top and pasting it where I wanted it.  I added title boxes over them to type my words.

Really, it is so simple!  I am not a computer girl, and I am able to do these layouts while I am sitting outside or when I am in my family room.  I LOVE the Express Collections because they simply are drag and drop.  Over the next few days, I am going to show you a few other pages I've done. When we are busy in the summer, this is a great way to catch up!!

Getting to Know Zoe

I've been working with Zoe quite a bit, but today I really wanted to work with the patterns.  The colors in this paper packet are so subtle, and I love the way they combine to create a project. 

I've used 5 of the 6 patterns for this card.  The sentiment is from one of the stamp sets that are exclusive to the Artistry collection.  I used Artistry to cut the coffee cup, too.  I was so excited to see a coffee house coffee cup on this cartridge!

The embellishments I used are coral shimmer trim and enamel green and glitter triangles.

Up, Up, and Away with Artistry!

There is so much to show you about the Cricut Artistry collection!  I wanted to start with this suer cute balloon.

What a great layered image!  Between the layers, I added some white shimmer trim for a little bit of pop.   I've used Zoe paper for the balloon and clouds.  Zoe is such a cheerful paper!   The sentiment is from the August Stamp of the Month.

Artistry Cricut Collection

It's time for me to tell you all about the brand new Cricut Collection, Artistry!

I am in love with this collection!  The stamp sets are trendy and fun, the refreshed Enchantment paper  packet is A-MAZ-ING, and the 700 images of the Artistry cartridge are...well, let me show you!!

You'll be seeing a lot of artwork from me in this weeks, days, months to come using this cartridge.  What I really love about this cartridge is that it has gone back to the basics with holidays, themes, and seasons.  And how about that fresh font?  I know a lot of you love layered images and you will find it on this cartridge.

I cut this background using the new Cricut Artistry cartridge (I'll be telling you about that tomorrow).  I used a waterbrush and glacier ink to soften the sky area.  The balloon stamp is a large element - 4-1/2" tall by 3" wide.  I love that because it can be a beautiful focal point on the card.  I have paper pieced the balloon using Zoe paper.
