Lilacs and Mother's Day

The sun is out today, and I was thinking about my lilacs.  It's still well over a month until they bloom in our part of Minnesota.  I always love when I can cut lilacs for the house.  They smell so good!

So I decided to put together a Mother's Day card using the lilac cuts on the Flower Market cartridge.

I used Pansy, Thistle, and Fern cardstock for the flowers and Kraft for the vase.   The print paper is from the Whimsy Fundamentals.  I embossed the white background with the retired Dots folder which is now in the Clearance section on my website for just $3.15!  You'll also find the Thistle twine there for $1.75!

Let me show you the use of the clear shimmer brush on the flowers:

That little bit of shimmer adds a whole lot, doesn't it?

Whimsy Four Layout Workshop

My Fundamentals club is ending next month, and the only Fundamentals paper we didn't cover over the course of the eight month was Whimsy.  I have to show you the beauty of that paper, so I created a workshop based on a workshop we were taught at the Team Builders event in January.  I changed the paper, the embellishments and brought some Spring to it!  You will create four 2-page layouts in this workshop, and I know you will love it!

Minnesota

There is no question that my husband and I love our wonderful state of Minnesota.  We absolutely love the four seasons and the 10,000+ lakes.  My favorite thing to do is sit on a lake's edge in the evening and listen to the loons, our state bird.  So naturally, we are thrilled that our years of camping, hiking, and exploring with Shane left him with a love for Minnesota, too!

He looks for and collects a lot of Minnesota decor to furnish his apartment.  I saw some vinyl, paper, and wood items at one of our craft stores and put this together for him.

I love doing home decor projects and it's doubly fun when I get to make something that goes to my son!  I think he's going to love this piece!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  Today we are highlighting our Thin Cuts.  They are all 25% off this month, and we want you to see all kinds of uses for them!

I've combined three different Thin Cuts to make my card.

I used the Adventure Fundamentals for the background paper because it's so bright and fun!  The Thin Cuts I've used are Stars, Celebrate, and the Dreamin' Big Bundle.

I stamped the butterflies with Blossom ink, and then I rolled the edges in Pansy.  To match the stars, I used a little gold shimmer on them.  If you'd like to see a video on how I do this, click on my Facebook business page HERE.

Stamp of the Month

What a pretty little Stamp of the Month!  It's called Tea-rrific, and it's got the prettiest little flowers and teacups.

I stamped the teacup on the printed paper from Sugar Rush.  I love fussy cutting, so it was a joy to create in this manner.  There is a flower on this set, and I stamped it in the middle of the teacup and then fussy cut a few more to scatter around the cup.  I used Tender Pink and Cherry Pink Shinhan markers to color the flowers.

One of my favorite things to do is layer ribbons and fibers, so that's what I did with pink twine and crocheted lace.  I finished off the card with a few Sugar Rush dots.

Swirly Seashells

I love this stamp set, and I was so happy when Close To My Heart made a set of Thin Cuts to match!

Let's start with the background:

I used my watercolor pencils to create the background.  This is really easy to do by lightly coloring the paper.  I started with the Desert Sand pencil at the bottom.  I followed with the Ocean pencil, and then I used Crystal Blue for the sky.  I simply used my medium flat waterbrush to create a wash over the watercoloring.  Let the paper dry or use your heat gun to dry.

Shells:

I used three different watercolor pencils to color the shells - Citrus Leaf, Desert Sand, and Crystal Blue.  Instead of using a waterbrush to blend, I used the Gold Shimmer Brush.

The sentiments are from the Nature's Wish stamp set, and I used some gold glitter gems and jute ribbon to finish off the card.

March Stamp of the Month

What a cute girlfriend and Mother's Day stamp for this month's Stamp of the Month.  It's called Tea-Rrific, and it's filled with possibility!

Every month I send the Top Sellers and Team Builders on my team a stamp of the month reward, and this year I am creating 6 x 8 layouts for them.  This is the Tea-Rrific layout that I mailed them.

I used the Artbooking cartridge to make the background and banner piece.  I colored the teacups with tender pink, cerulean blue, and golden yellow markers.  Then I thought it would be fun to cover them with Liquid Glass!
