Oh Boy!

I have spent an over excessive amount of time the last two days working on this layout.  It's not that it's overly phenomenal (other than the subject and product!), it's just that these are photos of Shane from 1993.  Whenever I go back to the little boy days, I tend to linger, fuss with the embellishments, and spent a little time than normal just thinking on that time in our life.

I haven't had much time to scrapbook lately, and it felt good to sit down with this gorgeous paper and these oh-so-cute photos.  Memory keeping is the reason I started my journey into paper crafting.  I love to make cards and create decor and gift items.  However, memory keeping is still where my heart lies!
You don't see any journaling because I often will journal on the back of my layouts.  That blank 12x12 canvas gives me a lot of room to write my thoughts, and it keeps it somewhat private.  Shane knows that I do that, so it won't be a big surprise to him one day.

Product used for this layout that can be found on my website:
Adventure Paper Fundamentals
Adventure Paper Fundamentals Complements
Black Fundamentals Assortment
Black and White Daisy Cardstock
Blue Shimmer Trim

(Cricut cuts used from Cricut Design Space are from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.)

Do yourself a favor and pick up some paper and create.  It's really, really good for your soul!

Artwork Sales for Operation Smile - SOLD

Every morning I wake up and realized how richly blessed  I am.

Because of that, I really want to continue to help Operation Smile this year.  You know, it's not about vanity for children with cleft palates.  It's about a life-changing surgery that can help them eat and drink.  It costs $240 to do one surgery on a child, and that's what I hope to raise by the end of the year with my artwork.

So you are going to see posts where I am selling the artwork that I share.  Underneath the description, I will have a PayPal link.  Unless noted, I will only have one of each item, so you might want to follow my blog so that you can see the items I am selling right away!  Whether a card or scrapbook page or home decor, each piece will be wrapped safely for shipping.  I will remove the PayPal link when it is sold.  You will also receive a handmade card from me as my way of saying thank you!

100% of your purchase price will be donated to Operation Smile!!

Okay, first up is this oh-so-cute banner I made with heavy chipboard coaster for my Extravaganza class at Convention.

Each coaster measures 4" x 4", and they are securely connected with twine.  The accordion-folded flowers are secured with Liquid Glass, and I used Georgie paper.  This is a cheerful piece for any room in the home!!

Thank you for stopping in to visit me today and for your continued support!!

Brand New Close To My Heart Planner!

I can't tell you how excited I am about the brand new Close To My Heart planner!!

While the rest of the world is using digital means to track their calendar, I used good old-fashioned paper and a good pen (the pen is essential with a pretty planner!).Every little note, every little thought, everything goes in my planner.

Did you look at the yumminess in that photo?  I can't wait to get my hands on one!
**The planners will be available later in November.**

Let me tell you a little about this system:

It all starts with a beautiful black 3-ring binder album called the Everyday Life album.  The planner pages packet comes with 154 planner pages, 12 monthly tabbed dividers, a pocket folder page, that pretty page finder you see in the photo and four sheets of stickers!

To make things even easier, you can also select a roller stamp for your label stickers!

Why call it Everyday Life?

Because this can hold so much more than calendar pages!!  Another matching packet is a set of 60 beautiful double-sided for journaling, note-taking, doodling - anything you wish!  I will love using these for artwork notes!

The Everyday Life washi tape will help you attach memorabilia quickly and easily!

And if that wasn't enough, Memory Protectors can be purchased as well.  I love that!!  I can store pictures right there in my planner!! Or I can grab a Picture My Life card for a pocket.  What an awesome way for any busy person to keep track of the good things in life.  Everyday life.

Watch my page for updates on when the planner will be available.  You'll be the first to know!

Secondly, I want to share the first of five layouts from the Simply Fundamentals.

I made this layout for my sister.  This sweet little pumpkin is her first grandchild.  So you'll notice that I put some lines on the side for her to journal.  I simply love each of these photos!!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  We are excited to show you all the ways that you can use the November Stamp of the Month, Cheers.  This hop is a circle and there are six of this time, so now matter where you start you will get through the circle quickly and be really inspired!

I had a Gathering this afternoon and decided to use watercolors along with Cheers to make this fun frame for my hostess.  We all need to be reminded to dream big now and again!

This is a simple wooden frame that I picked up at a local supply store, and the mat is 4 x4  I used the black-striped sheet from La Vie En Rose paper and adhered it to the frame with Liquid Glass.  The butterflies are cut from the Artistry cartridge and made with black glitter paper.

I used pink, orange, and yellow watercolors and my wide paintbrush to splash across my white background.  I love that technique!  I let it dry and then stamped "dream big" using Memento ink.
(NOTE:  If you want to learn more about watercoloring, I urge you to watch a video created by Close To My Heart for My Craft Channel.  Jill is easy to listen to, and she is a great teacher!

The outer edge of the frame is 1/2", so black shimmer trim finished it up nicely.  Here are some close-ups of my project.

Now it's time to head on over to Marg's blog at The Tater Patch.  She has got something lovely waiting for you!!

Should you get lost along the way, here is the full list followed by a photo of Cheers:
