Dream Big

I LOVE that the Whimsy Fundamentals and the way they work for so very many photos and occasions.  This is a photo of my son at the end of his junior college years.

Because I am a believer in scrapbooking all things, I am keeping a book of his college days so that he will have it one day.  The thing is, I have a hard time getting photos of him!  He has never been good about posing (even when little), so I have to catch him quickly and with the burst feature on my phone.  LOL!!

Let me tell you about this layout.  There is very little paper on this layout, but there is a lot going on, right?  I used five cuts from the Artistry collection - glasses border, "always learning," "film strip, photo tab, and "dream big."  I splattered watercolor all over this page - LOVE that for a college page!  The #MCTC is our new Marker alphabet.  It's super easy to cut out because of the thick letters.  The very light "52 credits" is Jennifer's Hand alphabet.  "way to go" is from the Way To Go stamp set - which I just can't use enough!!

I hope you've had a great weekend!

Make a Wish

I so love the Flower Market cartridge!
I have a son, so any time I can make flowers, I am happy as can be!

I used the Daisy cut on the cartridge to make these flowers.  The paper for the flowers and leaves is from Whimsy Fundamentals and gives the card a perfect fall feel.

Such a fun cartridge!!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  This month we want to show you two paper packets - Rustic Home and Uptown.  This month during the Basically the Best campaign, you can get one of these paper packets FREE when you purchase Whimsy, Enchantment, and Adventure Fundamentals.  Check out that special HERE.

This hop is a big circle, and there are 7 of us in the hop this time.  I'd love for you to hop through and see all the amazing things that have been created.  This team of women is talented!!

I used a sheet of Rustic Home woodgrain paper.  So often we think that woodgrain has to be masculine, so I wanted to show you a different way to use it.  I enlisted the help of my Flower Market cartridge.  Have you looked through the images yet?  If not, the PDF of the shapes can be seen HERE.

This card is very simple to make.  This is a colonial white standard card base.  I layered it with a piece of gold glitter paper cut at 5-7/16" x 4-3/16".  I cut the woodgrain paper at 5-1/4" x 4".

I wanted to make it easy for you to duplicate this card, so if you have Cricut Design Space,

Along with Colonial White, I used the new Adventure colors - Blossom and Raspberry - for the flowers.  And if you really want to add a little sparkle, grab a Shimmer Brush and put a light layer on the flowers.  You will love using that brush!!

Now it's time for you to move on to Lynn's blog where she's used the Uptown Fundamentals.  You are going to love what you see, and you are sure to be inspired!

Whimsy Baby Pages - Month 12

I love this last page of my great-nephew's book.  The three photos across the bottom are actually piles of 3x3 flip flaps.  Each set has 4 flip flaps, and they have blank cardstock for first year accomplishments.  What a perfect way to end the year!  This is also my favorite journaling!

Journaling reads:  "Whew!  It has been a year!  No one told me that when I left Mommy's belly I would have to learn so much!  I slept a lot because it is such hard work learning to do so many new things.  Don't even get me started on getting teeth.  Even if I was cranky sometimes, I am sure happy with my Mommy and Daddy.  It is fun to be silly and see them laugh.  I think the best thing I learned this year is how many people love me.  And they love me so much!!  I can't wait to talk next year so that I can tell them I love them, too!

Look for this workshop in the winter months.  You will be able to choose the boy's or girl's pages!

CONSULTANTS:  This workshop is offered in the Online Office.

Whimsy Baby Pages - Months 10 & 11

Journaling left page:  "Let's clear something up.  I really do love Great-Grandma.  She was squeezing me so I could feel how much she loves me!  I have to tell you something else.  Once in awhile I get pretty mad if things aren't going my way.  I have learned that Mommy and Daddy are really, really patient!"

Journaling right page:  "I really didn't know where my keys were.  One minute they were in my hands and then they were gone.  Who knew I could balance things on my head?  I don't know much about these pages with words.  But I think it's something pretty good.  I like when Mommy and Daddy tell me what the words say!

Whimsy Baby Pages - Months 4 & 5

The journaling on this page reads, "It's my first fall season, and I love when Mommy and Daddy take me outside.  I am a pretty happy kid without too much to worry about.  Really, I just need to make sure that I eat and have my diaper changed.  We live by a lake, so I know there will be many adventures in the days ahead.  I can't wait to see everything Mommy and Daddy have planned for me, and I hope those things bring me out in the fresh air!  It's a very good life at 4 months."

Whimsy Baby Pages - Month 1

I had so much fun creating the workshop I am going to share with you over the next week!  When I was asked to teach for Convention and given this beautiful palette of Whimsy with baby complements, I knew just what I wanted to do!  This book is written from my great-nephew's perspective.  As you go through the months, you will see that he is a wonderfully expressive boy!

Month 1

Every single page in the book has watercolor splatters, but other than that, I am not going to tell you too much about it.  I will be offering this workshop over the winter months.  It's perfect for a new parent, grandparent, or shower gift!

I created the same pages in girl colors, and that set of pages was auctioned off for Operation Smile.  I am humbled that the winning bid was $575, and I wish I had met the gal that purchased it!  If you are reading this, thank you so much and may God bless you for your generosity!!

Come back tomorrow for Months 2 & 3!

**NEW CLUB** Make It From Your Heart...Fundamentally

If you've looked through the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book, you've seen the lovely new Fundamental collections.  Not only are there beautiful new patterned papers, but they have matching complements and ribbon.  When I saw these, I knew I had to come up with a new and affordable club so that you could work with these papers and enjoy them as much as I do!

Make It From Your Heart…Fundamentally

Make it From Your Heart…Fundamentally is a scrapbook layout-only club that will cover a multitude of occasions in your life!  I think this is an important club because you will have an opportunity to learn a little bit more of why scrapbooking is more than a hobby.   Each month I'll share stories from fellow memory keepers and why they find their books so important.

Let me share photos of the layouts we will be creating on August 30th, the first night of club, and then I will tell you all the details.

Make It From Your Heart…Fundamentally will be the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
An 8-month commitment is required.

Here is the schedule of classes, what is included, and the cost each month.
Take notice that you will receive a FREE alphabet stamp set the first night of class, and that you will receive a FREE album at the end!

During the 8-month period we will use:
  •         Over 90 sheets of paper including cardstock, printed paper, kraft, vellum, gold overlays, and foil-accented paper
  •         48 yards of varied ribbon include satin, grosgrain, twine, jute, and lace
  •         Over 350 complements that include stickers, printed chipboard, glitter die-cuts, kraft die-cuts, and vellum die-cuts (some of these even include foil accents!)
The total cost for 8 months is $212.16, and you will complete 32 pages!!

      FAQs:

  •         I will collect your first month’s payment in advance so that I can order your kit. When you attend each month, you will pay for the following month. I have always charged exactly what product costs for classes, and in collecting in advance, it helps me pay for your class product without incurring extra charges.  Thank you for understanding!
  •        This class will NEVER be cancelled.
  •         If you cannot attend one night for some reason, I will contact you for your credit card number for the following month’s payment.  If you would like your kit mailed to you, there will be an extra $7 charge or I can hold it until the following month.
     MONTHLY SUPPLY KIT:
  •        Adhesive* - Tape Runner, Glue Dots, 3-D foam tape (thin is preferable for scrapbook pages)
  •        Scissors
  •        Clear Ruler
  •        Pencil

*      *I will always have adhesive tape runner, refills, glue dots, and 3-D foam tape on hand.

Flower Market Cricut Collection

Let me introduce Flower Market to you....

I am so excited to share this new Cricut Collection!!  It is plump full of flowers, vases,  leaves, wreaths, sentiments, and a CUTE font.  It is designed for a year's worth of themes and occasions that are suitable for scrapbooking and card-making.  I know you are going to love this collection as much as I do!

I used Sea Glass paper as a base and for the mason jar vase.  I stamped the edge of the white layer in flaxen with one of the background sets.  That lace on the edge is from our new Rustic Home ribbon pack.  The flowers and doily cut are so peaceful that I felt like it would be a wonderful sympathy card.  I used the Heartfelt Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment.

Whimsy Mini Album

Oh, I had such fun creating for Convention!  I was given the Whimsy Fundamentals, and I was able to create anything I wanted to make.  Doesn't that sound like dream work?  It sure was for me!

There are beautiful patterns in the Whimsy Fundamentals, and all of them have a watercolor look.  I loved working with that subtle texture.  I grabbed some Pixie polka dots and script paper to make this album, and you can find the instructions HERE.

Do you see that white open heart?  That is one of our new Thin Cuts called Hearts!  It's hard to see, but I used white glitter paper.  Our glitter paper works wonderfully with out Thin Cuts.

If you click on the photo, you will see an overlay on the photo.  And it's roses!  They are so fun to use, and can be attached easily with micro glue dots.

For embellishment, I used Whimsy Baby Girl Complements (they're not just for baby girls!).

I surely do love my team, and it was fun to put this book together to remember this fabulous weekend with them!!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  We are so glad that you stopped in to see what we have done with the August Stamp of the Month, Purr-fect Halloween.  There are half a dozen of us participating in the hop this time, and you are going to love the techniques you see along the way!

I used a few techniques on this card:
  • I dry embossed the white daisy layer with the Confetti Stars embossing folder.
  • I splashed the middle of that layer with yellow watercolors.
  • I splattered that with purple watercolor.
Pretty fun background, right?

Then I did this:
  • I used light peach color on watercolor paper in a 3" square.  I heat set to dry and then stamped the cat on it with Memento ink.
  • I did the glasses the same way with green watercolor, and followed by using that technique on the hat.
Truly, this cat is pretty easy to fussy cut.  After I was done, I popped it up with thin 3-d foam tape.  The banners are easy enough to stamp right over the dry embossing, and I lightly watercolored a few of the banners.

Now it's time to move on to Lynn.  She is incredible, and I loved her sneak peek.  I can't wait to see the whole project!!

The Stamp of the Month is always just $5 with a $50 order!!

I want to introduce you to our new Color of the Year Sea Glass!  This beautiful minty hue is only going to be available for one year, so I wanted to hit the ground running.  In this class you will receive a Sea Glass Pigment ink pad, and you will use Sea Glass cardstock and glitter paper.  Those are new cuts from the Flower Market cartridge, new stamps, and all of the embossing is done with folders from our new book!
