Swan Lake - October Themed Layout Workshop

You Have My Heart

Does this little face make you smile?  This little great-niece of mine surely does have my heart, and it was a pleasure to work with these photos.  This is a layout that I made for my class at Convention.  I was all done making projects, but then these photos were posted on Facebook.  How could I not sit down and scrap these precious photos?

Whimsy Fundamentals were the perfect choice.  Thistle dots and stripes along with some canary accents, Artiste cuts, and glitter paper die cuts made this page go together easily.  This page is a treasure.

Hey There, Pumpkin!

I love the fall and everything about it.  The crunch of the leaves, the transformation of the maples and oaks, my flowering sedum and aster, and the cool nights.  Truly, it's such a wonderful season.  I feel like I say that about that about the beginning of every season, but maybe that's why I live in Minnesota.  The four seasons bring me so much joy!

There's a really cute new stamp set in Holiday Expressions called Autumn Wishes.  There are two patchwork pumpkins and two sentiments in this set.  I've used all those stamps to make the next two cards.

Now I made both cards the same way, so let me tell you what I did.  I stamped the pumpkin twice in Goldrush and once in Saffron.  You will use one of the Goldrush pumpkins as the base.  Cut out the center 3 layers of the Saffron pumpkin and adhere to the top of the base pumpkin.  Finally cut out the center section of the 2nd Goldrush pumpkin and adhere on top of the Saffron piece.  I left adhesive off of the edges of the pieces so that I could roll them a little for dimension.

The card base is 4 1/4" square.  The Saffron dot sheet from the Enchantment Fundamentals is cut at 3 3/4" square.  The white daisy center is 3 1/4" square.  Before placing the pumpkin, stamp the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment in Saffron, and then I rolled the bottom in Goldrush for subtle ink dimension.

I used Fern twine to make the pumpkin tendrils along with Fern paper from Enchantment Fundamentals to make the banners (1/2" x 3/4").  I stapled those little banners before adhering them.  Gold sequins finished off this fall card nicely.

Monstrous Halloween (or Birthday!) Card Class

When I saw the monsters in the Halloween set, I knew that I would have to create a class!  No matter what color you use, they are adorable!!

The fun part about this class is that none of these cards need to be Halloween cards.  If you would rather make them into Birthday cards, there is a birthday sentiment in the stamp set.  

Let me show you the whole stamp set along with the Thin Cuts that match the monsters:

Isn't this just so fun?  I don't even have little kids in the house, and I love this set!  I was even happier that I could cut the images with the Thin Cuts.

In this class, we will be doing a little watercoloring to add just that something "more" to our cards.  Then we will be using the Thin Cuts to cut out our monsters.  You will leave the class with a colorful assortment of Halloween and/or Birthday cards using Jeepers Creepers paper and the matching Washi Tape.  You're also going to get a great introduction to our new colors - Sea Glass, Tangerine, Willow, Raspberry, and Pansy.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - September Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  We are going to show you all kinds of things you can do with the September Stamp of the Month, Blessed Beyond Measure.  This hop is a big circle, and you are going to see a lot of inspiration!  All you have to do is start with me and follow the circle.

I LOVE this set.  It's probably my favorite stamp of the month this year!  It's so nice to focus on the blessings, and that's exactly what this stamp does.

I embossed one of the leaf stamps with gold embossing powder and then fussy cut them.  

(HINT:  It's a little easier to fussy cut these when the leaves are embossed.)  I colored the leaves with four Shinhan markers - carmine, marigold, golden yellow, and sap green.

The paper is from the Enchantment Fundamentals, and I've also layered the sentiment with gold glitter paper.  The gold ribbon is from the Uptown ribbon pack, and the crocheted lace is from the Rustic ribbon pack.  That little gem is from Base & Bling rhinestones.

I am thinking that this card will go in a frame as a beautiful reminder of gratitude.
