What is better than a garden of roses? That's what you'll find in March's Stamp of the Month Floral Happiness. I'll show you a few ways to use it this month, but for this delicate criss cross card, I've grabbed the smallest roses.
Don't the roses and leaves make a wonderful focal point for this card. For those of you that are interested in my background stamping class, we'll be making this card, too! (See my Classes tab for more details.) I stamped the base of the roses with ruby, and then used barn red for the detail. Take a look at this stamp:
There are three different rose sizes as well as some fabulous sentiments to match. Happiness is a lot of things, and this stamp set certainly helps you share that with others through your artwork!
Remember, the stamp of the month is always just $5 with a $50 purchase!

Sun is Shining
I always like when it's circle or square week at Mojo Monday! When I saw the sketch this week, I knew I wanted to make a circle card, and because I still had my Surf's Up paper sitting out, I had just the right stamp set in mind!
This is the April Stamp of the Month again (I can't help but give you sneak peeks!). I cut the circle card and scalloped base with the Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut the sun and cloud with the Artiste cartridge. Really, this card was super easy to make. It reminds me of the summer, and I like that about it!

Beach Day
The sun is not out today, and I am itching for Spring! So, I pulled out my Surf's Up paper and delved right into the heart of summer. This is such great paper, so I thought I'd scrap some of the photos from our excursion in Grenada.
On cloudy days, I struggle with good photos of 2-page layouts, and this is really so much nicer in person! On this excursion, we had a little nature walk before actually spending time at the beach. There wasn't much nature to speak of along the way rather it was a hot walk to a very secluded beach. However, Jerry and I were just okay with that! The really beautiful part of nature was the Caribbean Sea at the end of the walk. Jerry and I really are like two kids when it comes to water. We love being in the water, and we're not afraid to shed our shoes, get our clothes a little wet, and just plain enjoy the journey.
You must know by now that one of the things I love about CTMH is that everything matches. For someone like me that loves to cluster, it is a paper dream come true!
I've used the April Stamp of the Month with sorbet and goldrush ink (stamps are GREAT embellishments - and when April rolls around, you will see loads of this set!), Wooden Mini Medleys, Trinket Wooden Shapes, the Surf's Up assortment, and brown & tan sparkles. The letters are the Irresistibles Houndstooth Alpha that I colored with sorbet ink.
Little by little you'll get to see this wonderful cruise in layouts! I hope you are having a most blessed day!

Peaceful
If you look on page 36 of the Spring Summer Idea Book (I'll give you a second...you have time to grab your book...), you are going to find a page that looks very much like this one. I loved that 2-page layout and the color mix so much that I had to create it for myself.
I took this picture on the last day of our cruise. We had a lazy day in St. Thomas and then headed back to the ship deck to enjoy the sea. Jerry stood looking out for so long, and I just knew that he was completely and utterly at peace. I so enjoyed sharing this cruise with my best friend!
This paper is For Always, and at first glance it looks like it should be for weddings. But CTMH was smart in adding honey and lagoon to the paper packet to give us a brand new way to look at it. The stickease that match this paper packet are just wonderful, and I paired them with some retired honey mini medleys. You could actually mix this paper with any color that matches your pictures. It's just so pretty!
Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you have a Monday filled with paper and ink!

March Class - Kraft Containers
Aren't these cute containers for gift giving? Before I tell you anymore, I want you to know that this project was created by the very talented CTMH art studio. You can see these on page 29 of the Spring/Summer Idea Book. I loved these the minute I saw them and gathered materials to create them for a class in March.
These containers measure just about 6" tall and are 3" in diameter. I particularly liked the way these were created for spring gift giving. How fun for Easter or Mother's Day! They would also hold a nice pick-me-up for a friend or co-worker (I am thinking chocolate, of course!). Do you know a gardener that has spring fever? The seeds container would hold several packets of seeds beautifully!
Here are the details for the class:
Tuesday, March 19th
6:30 pm
$17.00
In this class, you create all 3 containers, and everything you need for the class is included! Are you long distance? Don't worry! With a little extra for shipping, I will mail this class directly to you!

The Best Things in Life...
I found a lovely sketch over at Cardabilities, and I decided to challenge myself a little further with the lovely pinks of Chantilly.
The pink polka dot strip and sentiment tag are from the Chantilly Dimensional Elements. They were perfect for this design. I cut the background scalloped circle with the Art Philosophy cartridge, and I cut the lacy butterfly with the Artiste cartridge. The butterfly is the same cut as the wooden butterfly behind, and I added the artisan stud in the middle of the butterfly. My favorite element is the pretty hollyhock zipper lace. Many people have asked me about the zipper lace and how to cut it. I think it's very easy to cut because there is room between the teeth. I just use my micro-tip scissors, and there is no problem at all!

Sweet as Honey
In March, I am having a background stamping class, and this is one of the cards we will be making. CTMH carries a lot of really nice background stamps, and it's so much fun to put together a card or project using them. I love the warm yellow in creme brulee ink, and I especially like pairing it with cocoa. I've paired the Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go stamp with the Honeycomb stamp set. The stamping is really the focus on this card, so I've only used a few embellishments - baker's twine hemp, artisan studs, and some bitty mocha opaque gems.
If you are local and would like to learn more about background stamping, mark your calendar for Monday, March 25th!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop!
I am super excited that you are joining the Rose Blossoms Blog Hop! I so love the creativity in my team, and they all have so much to share with you. If you like what you see along the way, I encourage you to follow each one of these gals so that you can be continually inspired!
We are using new product from the 2013 Spring/Summer Idea Book in this hop. By the time you've hopped all the blogs, you will have seen all the new papers! Be sure to scroll down after my project so that you can see the rules and find your way to all the blogs.
I was over-the-top thrilled when I Close To My Heart introduced canvas displays in this Idea Book. They are the perfect size for a table top at 6"x6" or you can easily group them together to make a complete wall hanging. The price is only $4.95 for a blank canvas, so it's also an affordable gift!
Let me tell you about how I created this piece for you. I gathered my spray pen and filled it halfway with water and added three drops of hollyhock re-inker. When you are using your spray pen, a good rule of thumb is to add just a drop or two of re-inker, test it, and then add one drop more a time until you achieve the shade you'd like.
When you mist your canvas, it dries relatively quickly. I set mine aside while I made my Cricut cuts. I cut the tag, flowers, and leaves using the Claire paper packet and the Art Philosophy cartridge. I've used two stamp sets - February Stamp of the Month, Home Sweet Home, for the sentiment and Girls Rock for the flowers and leaves. What do you think of the pink glitter gems? I love them! The wooden flourish is from Mini Medley Wooden Collection. Another gem in the Idea Book is the Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon. All of these colors are gorgeous together!
Ok, here's how Blog Hop works. I am the last stop on the hop, so you are going to want to start at the beginning at Lynn's blog. At each blog, you are going to collect a word and then you will put the completed sentence in my comments. Sound like fun?
Should you get lost along the way, here are the blogs you'll be hopping:
Don't worry, my comments are hidden for the hop, so there can't be any cheating! When you comment with the sentence, you will be entered into the grand prize drawing for a Buzz and Bumble Paper Packet and the coordinating Honeycomb Stamp Set. Have fun hopping! Don't forget to check back with me on Monday to see if you are a winner!!

Chantilly Easel Card
Happy day of love to you all!
Chantilly is a beautiful paper packet and has some great textures and colors. If you've read my blog for some time, you know that pinks and the more cool colors are difficult for me to work with. However, there is so much warmth to this paper! Ruby and buttercup embellish the lighter pink and blue. And, of course, it's always fun to make an easel card!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! There is some fabulous inspiration for you in the 10 blog hops stops, and there are prizes to be won!!

My Husband's Valentine
Have you ever picked up a paper packet and just knew that you were going to have to buy lots more? That's how I felt when I pulled out Tommy this morning. My husband fishes a lot, and I go out on the boat with him quite often. This paper is going to be wonderful for scrapping those photos!
I wanted to make him a Valentine with this paper, so I grabbed the sketch from Mojo Monday, and this is what I came up with:
2012 was somewhat of a difficult year for us, but one thing I wake up and thank God for every day is the gift of my husband. We are so fortunate to have a marriage that is truly blessed. This sentiment from the Tommy Workshop on the Go stamp set may not seem like a Valentine's sentiment, but it surely works for us perfectly!
I've also used chevron ribbon, outdoor denim brads, and blue epoxy bubbles on this card. Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me today!

Cruise Gift
I wanted to make something special to bring to Karen on the cruise. She is such a great leader and has taught me so much about how to lead my Rose Blossoms team. I am truly blessed all the way around!
Unfortunately none of this product is available anymore. I saved it all from last year's summer Idea Book, and I am glad I did! I love how this display album turned out!
This is the last day of the cruise (I've pre-scheduled all of the posts you've looked at this week), and we are in St. Thomas. When I am home on Sunday, I'll share some photos from the cruise!!

Boys Rule
Well, what do you think of this bright boy's paper? Awesome!! I like the roughness and paint splatters in Later Sk8r. My niece took these photos last year, and I think she had an inside on what one of our new papers would be! How perfect are they?!
I used the stamp set from the Later Sk8r WOTG along with Dimensional Element Stars, gear cuts from the Artiste, and our new Blue/Green Epoxy Bubbles.
This is one of the club layouts this month!

Those beautiful, beautiful flowers can be cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge, and then stamped with the Girls Rock stamp set. Click on the photo to make it larger so that you can see the Zipper Lace closer - WOWIE! I love that ribbon!! Here's a little close-up for you.
